OverviewThe perfect escape. We won’t tell you that Antigua’s Catamaran Hotel is romantic. When, at night, the always-starry sky and the reflecting water hits the perfect shade of indigo; and the lapping of the surf, as yachts loll languidly on its surface, call to your senses, you’ll come to that conclusion on your own. We have 14 rooms in the hotel, each with an ocean view and full kitchen facilities to enable you to enjoy your vacation on a budget. All rooms come complete with ceiling fans and air conditioners; keeping you cool, even when the heat is on. Our mattresses and beds are perfect – we’ve sleep tested them ourselves. Hot and cold running water in our en-suite bathrooms are a basic feature of each room; while, in others, a bath is a nice bonus. Also, our daily maid service ensures that not only are you clean, so is your room. It’s your vacation; you can be as dressed up or as dressed down as you wish. With a hair dryer in each room, and both iron and ironing board available on request, the choice is yours. When we say self-catering, we mean it. Your room is outfitted with a refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, and china and cutlery; putting all your culinary essentials (except for the food, which you provide) at your fingertips. Our rooms are perfect for quiet nights in, with or without external diversion. If external diversion is required, a broad range of national and international entertainment is easily accessed via your room’s Cable TV hook-up. The Captain’s Quarters Sports Bar & Breakfast Club is conveniently located next to the hotel and is open from 7:00am to 10:00pm every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cambusa, which serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner but is picture perfect for laidback dining with a breathtaking sunset view. If you have a wandering spirit, there are over 25 area bars and restaurants, offering a range of international cuisine, to satisfy. Falmouth is a seafaring community and Catamaran Hotel, whose owners have well-traveled sea legs, is at the heart of it all. The hotel marks the spot for sailors seeking temporary moorings or land lubbers with an interest in the sea. The Catamaran Hotel sits alongside the Catamaran Marina, which offers secure berthing facilities in pleasant, quiet, and peaceful surroundings. The bonus is that both Marina and Hotel are a stone’s throw by dinghy or car from Antigua’s yachting hubs, English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard. Antigua (pronounced An-tee’ga) and Barbuda (pronounced Bar-byew’da) are often referred to as the heart of the Caribbean. A lot of this likely has to do with its location in the middle of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean, making it a hub. The time zone for Antigua is Atlantic Standard Time which is GMT – 4 hours. The largest of the British Leeward Islands, Antigua has warm, steady winds; a complex coastline of safe harbours; and a protective, nearly unbroken, wall of coral reef. With the constant trade winds blowing in and many harbours to explore, the Antiguan coastline is ideal for yacht cruising and racing. You could easily pass a week investigating the expansive and winding coastline of this picturesque Caribbean island. There, you’ll find a tremendous wealth of secluded, powdery-soft beaches, with coral reefs so magnificent they’ve attracted snorkelers and scuba divers from around the world. Antigua and Barbuda alike are almost completely surrounded by well-preserved coral reefs, walls, and shipwrecks. Surrounding shelves provide excellent conditions for shallow diving and snorkeling. These prime conditions include the limited current, water temperature averaging 80 F (25 C), underwater visibility ranging from 50 to 140 feet, and a diverse and abundant array of tropical marine plants and animals. So, go ahead; dive in. Travel Agent Reviews
