Overview

Nestled on the banks of the Ayung River, Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa, is an award-winning eco-conscious wellness retreat deeply rooted in the ancient traditions of Bali, making it a peaceful sanctuary to embrace authentic Balinese Healing, Living Foods and Sacred Arts.

At Fivelements, "living well" is inspired by Balinese culture, which encourages us to nurture harmony with spirit, the environment and with one another. Our holistic integrative approach is designed to tune in to the physical, emotional and spiritual levels, allowing an organic healing process to naturally unfold.

Our overall aim is to co-create a trusting connection and gently guide you through a highly personalised programme, while providing you with useful life tools to return home with. We invite you on a new healing journey through the mystic culture of Bali at Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa.

To fully experience Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa, a stay in one of our nine exclusive suites is a must. Here, each room is enveloped in the hypnotising whisperings of the sacred Ayung River as it carves its way through the valley. Facing a verdant forest hillside with waterfalls and the natural wonders that are often captured in Balinese paintings, each suite features an open veranda poised above the river’s swirling currents and a private bamboo enclosure housing a large open-air bathtub hewn from a stone boulder. Customised lighting showcases the seven colours of the chakras, bringing mind, body and spirit in unison with nature.

The spacious, eco-luxurious bedroom villas, complete with ensuite garden bathrooms, ensure an exclusive stay with exemplary personalised service. The nine sleeping suites, five named after each of the five elements in Balinese – Pertiwi (earth), Apah (water), Teja (fire), Bayu (air) and Akasa (ether), two Waterfall suites and two Bidadari (angel) suites, embrace the designs of nature fashioned in the forms of sacred spirals and organic leaves. The high grass-roofed ceilings, recycled timber floors, air-conditioning and flowing white curtains allow you to relax and find peace after a treatment, meal or meditation.

The Asian style teakwood bed and sofa lounge areas are designed with traditional hand-woven songket fabrics and ikat dyes and designs, commonly used for Balinese weddings and royal ceremonies. The adjoining indoor/outdoor bathroom features a lush, tropical garden with a rustic masonry stone wall and a large shower area opening to the skies and furnished with Fivelements' signature botanical essence amenities sourced directly from local farmers. Designed to enhance inner harmony within gracious natural surroundings and the ever-present sounds of the sacred river, these delightful rooms invite an opening for unconscious healing, completing the total experience of Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa.

A bamboo architectural masterpiece with a sweeping thatched roof fashioned in the shape of a banana leaf, which is a symbol of food for the Balinese people. Overlooking a tranquil lotus pond on one side and the Ayung River on the other, the Sakti Dining Room can comfortably accommodate 80 people seated. The menu presents a fine-dining, healing cuisine of ‘Living Foods’ comprising raw vegan options and other lightly-prepared, plant-based dishes. The Dining Room also features a modern, state-of-the-art, professionally-equipped kitchen, an upstairs resource centre, lounge and workplace for personal health coaching and healing food training.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   For the price of this hotel, you are basically paying to be on the river. The room service was pretty fast, but that alone is not worth the price. The hotel itself is very tucked away and getting to and from is pretty inconvinient. The only food they have on the property is raw, vegan food which cost a lot of money for what it is and the portions. There aren't any options within walking distance either, we had to ride our scooters to get food anywhere else. They also do not rent scooters on the property, so we had to get driven to Ubud to pick up a couple which is inconvinient! They also don't have many activities, just a yoga studio and a spa which is also expensive for the area, which traps their customers to use because of the distance to anything else! The worst part about it was that there was a mouse in our room which made noise and terrorized the room at night. It got into our fruit and leftover dinner which is drug across the floor and into a corner, I found a bowl of rice and water behind a dresser. There were no refrigerators in the room, so we could not even really keep any other food in the room. Once again forced to eat raw, vegan food which made my stomach hurt because if you aren't used to that diet, your stomach has a hard time breaking down all the food from raw form. To top it off, the mouse pooped into our bedsheets and on the table where the food was. That's how people get sick... so overall, I'm very disappointed in the "hype" of this hotel.

Review:   Amazing place. We loved reading books overlooking the river. Mei and Sayu gave us a brilliant Prema Hibiscus treatment. and then very nice vegan food in the restaurant. Expensive place for bali, but totally worth treating yourself.

Review:   The place at the top of the relaxation live far away from the world and the bustle of the street Reception was very wonderful and a lovely welcome 2 bedrooms with private pool and river view with private bath tub for each room to enjoy special moments The bathroom is different and distinct The Shawar is different The pool area is quite a bit 4 * 2.5 approx The public pool is large and suitable The spa was not done but the experience seemed fun and lovely The food served at the hotel has been beautifully tried to try a new chic where it offers vegetarian food only This is a beautiful hotel style that is located on the river. It's hard to walk to the shops requiring a car The experience was pleasant one night We recommend it to anyone looking for tranquility, relaxation and outstanding food Some photos show part of the hotel
