The magnificent inviting rooms and exclusive services combined with the outstanding gastronomy served in the restaurants and bars, the fabulous wellness programmes available at the spa, the range of water and land sports and the evening leisure options have rightly positioned this hotel as one of the most popular in this paradisiacal region.

The 744 rooms of the 5-star resort complex are in a privileged setting on the beautiful Bávaro white sand beach and are surrounded by lush tropical gardens. And with installations and services for the whole family.

The resort has a wide selection of restaurants and bars. In true Dominican style, all the bars offer a wide variety of drinks and snacks. The resort's restaurants have everything from traditional Dominican cuisine to Italian and Japanese cuisine. You'll find the main restaurant which offers an international cuisine buffet and à la carte speciality restaurants: Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Fish and Shellfish, Grilled Meat and Mediterranean. Remember that you can enjoy the à la carte restaurants at the Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana.

At the Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro Hotel you'll always have something to do, go to the Spa, take a walk on the vast white sand beach, enjoy activities in the pool or sports on the beach, spend a day on an outing that you'll remember for your whole life and much more. We also have personnel specialising in child care and children's entertainment, and we offer a wide and varied programme of activities and entertainment to keep the little ones amused.

There are sports and activities at all hours of the day, to enjoy the sun, the sea or the beach, so you won't stop even for a second. Come to our "Scubaquatic" aquatic activities centre and learn catamaran sailing, the wind and windsurfing arts and even have fun on the banana boat with your friends. Each and every one of your activities and favourite sports are here. Find yours.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   I will start by saying that this is a beautiful resort. However, if you aren’t able to walk long distance, this isn’t the place for you. It is very easy to be lost, and you need the shuttle to go most places, including the beach. There are no elevators to get to floors of rooms. I had quite a hard time getting drinks at the bars, and I even tipped them good. They would look at me and keep talking amongst themselves. It wasn’t crowded, so I’m not sure what the hold up was. It was hard to get attention in the mornings for coffee, and any other drinks at the buffet. Many didn’t seem to like their job, and didn’t care about helping us. So many weren’t fluent in English. I had the same issue with check in. We were told three times that our room was being cleaned. It took almost two hours to be checked into our room, well past the check in time. I also got several bites on my legs and ankles. It yet to be determined if it is beg bugs. I felt it to be very disorganized. However, many people like it there, this was just my experience. I gave it two stars because of the tasty food and beach location.

Review:   We had several problems while at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana. Our room had multiple electrical issues... light bulbs blowing and fuses tripping. When the lights were all turned off at night two different lights would flicker on unless we turned off the fan... and when we tried to get hold of the concierge service to help us deal with the issues they were often either unavailable or unhelpful. When we had staff come out and fix a couple of the issues they were helpful but we gave up asking after a while. We then had water dripping from the ceiling near the end of our stay and we were able to get the maid who was in the room next door to come in and check it out and even she had a hard time getting hold of someone to take a look at it. The Privilege Club staff continually harassed us to get us to come to a presentation which they told us would only take an hour. They would call our room several times a day and anytime we were in the lobby they would come up to us and try to get us to come to a presentation. When talking with other guests we found out that the presentation that they said would only be an hour was at minimum two hours and sometimes would last an entire half day. The entire presentation was apparently a high pressure pitch to join and pay thousands and thousands of dollars to join the privilege Club which would pay for one week's stay at 50% for 30 years at any Bahia Principe... flight not included of course. Other than the a la carte restaurants (which were difficult to get a reservation at... especially the one S that we wanted) the food was never hot... just warm... and service at the buffets and snack bars was difficult to get or not existent at all. We often would have to call staff over... sometimes several different ones before anyone would even come over at the buffets so we could get a drink of soda or even get our water glasses filled. At the snack bars we often didn't even have staff come near our table when we were there even if the staff didn't appear to be busy. We were disappointed in our trip because we had been expecting a great trip and it was riddled with so many issues that could have been avoided. We definitely will not be returning to a Bahia Principe resort any time in the future nor will we be recommending that anyone we know go to one... perhaps even discouraged them from going if they ask. Honestly the only good service we constantly got was from our maid. She was very sweet and did her best to help us out when she could.

Review:   I stayed here with a group of friend for 5 days. The rooms were infested with mosquitoes. Some days we didn’t receive fresh or appropriate amounts of linen/bath towels. Or ceiling in our room leaked on multiple occasions and we were never compensated for inconvenience. The buffer was very good so no complaints there. We were not informed that we had to reserve nights at the a la carte restaurants prior to arrival and there was nothing available for us to to enjoy. As the title states, I would recommend some of the other resorts before wasting your experience here.

Review:   My 6th year there. Awesome. Hugo at the main pool is great. Have made a good friend. Going back in 2019. I wish sometimes they would do an upgrade for repeat customers.

Review:   Quite a good place, beach on the doorstep, certain days lot of seaweed, other days nothing. Poolside staff always smiling and helpful serving drinks. Chefs are really helpful especially if vegetarian willing to make anything. Only problem everything needed to be requested few times before being done.
