Overlooking the Caribbean’s most iconic expanses of sand, the award winning Playa Bavaro, with its characteristic palm groves, turquoise waters, stunning mangroves and coral reef, this spacious hotel is the perfect choice for family holidays thanks to its superb facilities and varied entertainment options. The magnificent inviting rooms and exclusive services combined with the outstanding gastronomy served in the restaurants and bars, the fabulous wellness programmes available at the spa, the range of water and land sports and the evening leisure options have rightly positioned this hotel as one of the most popular in this paradisiacal region.

The 744 rooms of the 5-star resort complex are in a privileged setting on the beautiful Bávaro white sand beach and are surrounded by lush tropical gardens. And with installations and services for the whole family.

The resort has a wide selection of restaurants and bars. In true Dominican style, all the bars offer a wide variety of drinks and snacks. The resort's restaurants have everything from traditional Dominican cuisine to Italian and Japanese cuisine. You'll find the main restaurant which offers an international cuisine buffet and à la carte speciality restaurants: Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Fish and Shellfish, Grilled Meat and Mediterranean. Remember that you can enjoy the à la carte restaurants at the Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana.

At the Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro Hotel you'll always have something to do, go to the Spa, take a walk on the vast white sand beach, enjoy activities in the pool or sports on the beach, spend a day on an outing that you'll remember for your whole life and much more. We also have personnel specialising in child care and children's entertainment, and we offer a wide and varied programme of activities and entertainment to keep the little ones amused.

There are sports and activities at all hours of the day, to enjoy the sun, the sea or the beach, so you won't stop even for a second. Come to our "Scubaquatic" aquatic activities centre and learn catamaran sailing, the wind and windsurfing arts and even have fun on the banana boat with your friends. Each and every one of your activities and favourite sports are here. Find yours.

The country's top golf destination is here, in one of the best spots in the Caribbean. Golf lovers will find, only 5 minutes from the resort complex, the fantastic course designed by Nick Price in the Dominican Republic, at the Punta Blanca Gold Club. Holes: 18.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   I was here in July 2018. Love the ocean front shopping on the beach. Great activities by pools and beach. Love the entertainment and food. Make sure you take the tram. A lot of walking. Beautiful staff. It would have been nice if more staff spoke English. Customer service desk very slow.

Review:   Outstanding 5 day vacation at Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro! From check in to check out! Most all staff very friendly and approachable. Eduard Torres at reception is the man! I speak little to no Spanish but managed ok. Resort is huge and fabulous. I was looking for a peaceful getaway and found it. But when I wanted to party- I found that too! All kinds of food and drinks everywhere. All of the restaurants have great food- so definitely make reservations. Beach is easily accessible and you can go for a swim anytime. April was a great time to go as the resort is lively but not overcrowded. I plan to return and would definitely reccomend for a family vacation. Next time may upgrade to one of the luxury Bahia locations at the resort. Again outstanding job to everyone at Grand Bahia!

Review:   Great except… I got food poisoning! Not fun to say the least. Completely ruined my experience in the Dominican Republic. Will not go back to this resort and will certainly not advise any of my friends to stay here. Only will rave about this place to my enemies so that they can experience the same pain that I had to endure on my last days here. Can’t wait for the plane ride home!

Review:   Of all the vacations I've been to so far this one was the very best. This includes 2 cruises. This had everything- specialty restaurants, a good casino, a beach, and a nightclub among other things. The hotel is actually very cheap comparing to the others I've been to, while still being the best resort I've been to. I'm not sure if this resort has a disco though. The hotel was large with a good tv having cable and a fairly big bathroom with a hydromassage bathtub. I would say my experience here was "perfect".

Review:   Beautiful land, service at the front desk check in wasn't good. Asked for remote control batteries on Saturday today is Tuesday I still didn't get. Room toilet was broken mold in the shower and standing lamp was broken. Got an excellent massage, the Japanese restaurant was amazing, got hair braided, she quoted 40.00, after I signed the confirmation of the 40.00 she added 40.00 more. I disputed it, they brought her to the front, she screamed at me, not professional or good. She said, I don't have no money so you want to steal mine. I had one hour to eat, take meds and wait for transportation. I'm away from home and need to get home. So, she can get the extra 40, obviously she needs it more than me. This was my first trip here, I was here to celebrate my 50th birthday.
