Overview
Take this comfortable boat to the best whale watching site.
Come join us in the world’s best location for viewing whales and marine life in the wild. Spring and summer are the ideal seasons to see our resident orca whales in all of their glory.
From April to October we offer a three-hour whale watching/marine wildlife tours aboard our enclosed, 45’ vessel. However, if you're more of an open air boat person, feel free to roam on the spacious upper deck as well.
This vessel affords you all the amenities needed to enjoy your whale watching expedition in absolute comfort. Best part of this is the fact that the company is Climate Friendly because it is providing Carbon Neutral tours, so important in Alaska and Canada. The vessel has both an outdoor upper and a lower deck so you will feel the refreshing wind in your face and smell the sea air. This will allow you to get up close and personal with the great mammals of the deep. Inside, the comfy seats and expansive windows give you a great vantage point to see what's happening while staying warm and dry, whatever the weather.
You will find complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, and also jackets and binoculars on request, free of charge. Educational books and videos are available for your enjoyment, as are snacks, beer, wine, and cocktails (additional charge apply). The boat is equipped with full washroom facilities and a designated wheelchair accessible area.
Historical data has been accumulated for the past 10 years in regard to sightings of different species in this area. There is an 85% chance of seeing Orcas in May, and a great chance for Stellar Sea Lions and California Sea Lions at the early part of the season. The chance of seeing Orcas in July or Humpbacks in September is far greater than in May.
The Juan de Fuca and Haro Straits are home to three resident orca (killer whale) pods. Nearly 100 killer whales belong to these three pods, providing you ample opportunity to have your own close encounter of the deep. Other marine wildlife frequent to the Victoria area that you may encounter include Dall's porpoise, harbour porpoise, harbour and elephant seals, otters, and many marine birds such as cormorants and bald eagles. There is also a chance of sighting humpback, minke, and gray whales during your Victoria whale watching tour.
With safety as our top priority, these adventures are suitable for all ages, from infants to seniors. The staff prides themselves on providing the friendliest customer service and a superior whale watching experience that is safe, educational, fun, and exhilarating for all ages. The fully qualified professional captains and crew are Transport Canada Safety Certified.
