Experience the sophisticated luxury oceanfront destination situated on world-famous Poipu Beach, on the sun-kissed south shore of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Inspired by the spectacular sunsets, colorful native flowers and vibrant sea life of Kauai, Koa Kea Hotel & Resort captures the natural essence of luxury island adventure.

In Hawaiian, the name Koa Kea translates to "white coral." According to Hawaiian mythology, the ancient Hawaiian world began with the birth of the goddess Po, whose first grandchild was the coral, the goddess Hina. Hina, short for Wahine meaning "woman", is a powerful source of new life and spirituality. The name of the Koa Kea Hotel & Resort is a tribute to the life-giving power of the coral reefs, the new life that has been brought to our hotel and the enduring dependence we have on the sea.

The Koa Kea Hotel & Resort on Poipu Beach is the newest and most spectacular boutique hotel on the island. No other luxury hotel in Kauai boasts the stunning decor of renowned designer Anita Brooks, or Koa Kea's unmatched proximity to the ocean.

Every room is newly renovated to accentuate the essence and landscape of Hawaii: neutral tones are accented with the native colors of rich crimson, turquoise, and coral. All rooms have lanais, offering guests of our hotel unlimited access to the island's sunlight, moonlight, and sea breezes.

Pros: Newest boutique resort located in Kauai, children are welcome but resort caters mostly to adults. Koa Kea Resort is located on the sunny side of Kauai.

Cons: None.

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   The service at Ko'a Kea Hotel & Resort was first class. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious and the King size bed was so comfortable that if it would fit in my luggage I'd take it home with me! The hotel is right on the beach front and a very short drive from many restaurant options. Would highly recommend.

Review:   This place is positively amazing! Never have I stayed at a 5 star resort with this attention to detail and attentive staff! From the reception as they accompany you to your room to show you around, to the fun, friendly and knowledgeable valet staff...it excels above all others. The turn down service with the free waters and chocolates, the free bottle of Welcome wine, the freshly brewed Kauai Coffee ready exactly at 6am, the free MaiTais by the pool to welcome happy hour, the fruit-infused water, chilled fruit juice and fresh fruit available in the reception hall...make this place unique. I will stay here in a heartbeat again!

Review:   The beach by Ko'a Kea is incredible! Snorkeling, sun, quiet beach with a little rocky area that houses some crabs. I can't speak for the resort itself, but you can walk the path from the public beach past the Marriott and to this beach area, although technically their beach is only for their own guests

Review:   There is not a single better hotel amongst ALL the islands of Hawaii. This place is as close to paradise as you can get. The staff is world class, the resort is literally on the ocean, the home restaurant, Red Salt, will blow your socks off, and the rooms are absolutely impeccable. I come here and here only when I am on Kauai. There's a reason why it's consistently voted a Top 5 Romantic Hotel in the United States every year. I will never tire of visiting Koa Kea.
