Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   “Top Class Luxury, Architecture in Natural Surroundings” WHEN YOUR VILLA HAS: 1)a private plunge pool with good views AND; 2)a private outdoor jacuzzi AND; 3)a private Sauna; PLUS 4)some of the best FOOD and STAFF/SERVICE (not to mention the AMAZING ARCHITECTURE everywhere in the resort)........then “Top Class” is quite an accurate description of the whole experience 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻! And of course, lazing in the private pool holding A DOUBLE SHOT OF NEAT Johnny Walker Blue label and a Cigar every afternoon.....partially OVERLOOKING the Rice Fields/Lotus flower beds on one side of the pool .... and COMPLETELY SHIELDED by Palm trees on the other side of the pool.... clear blue skies above... I guess another reason to call it a “Top Class” experience ☺️. ONLINE BOOKING and ARRIVAL: Dhara Dhevi’s pleasant staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. The online booking took barely few minutes (via the deals available on TripAdvisor website). Had booked a Grand Deluxe Villa with Private Plunge Pool. Shortly after finishing the booking, I was discussing the airport transfer, things to do, etc. with the Dhara Dhevi’s concierge (their responses come PRETTY QUICKLY, which I always value). Booked the Mercedes E200 for airport transfer at not such a bad rate. To enable me to make a well-informed decision, they also offered to book a taxi for me if I preferred so. Finally, went in for the Merc. As soon as the car enters the compound of the report and you are OVERWHELMED by the grand architecture! The staff greeted with great energy, flowers and drinks, etc. Soon after, we were ushered in for the Breakfast Buffet....which I totally loved! QUICK TOUR via GOLF-CART/BUGGY ON THE WAY TO VILLA: The staff asked if we’d like a brief tour of the resort via the buggy, whilst on the way to the Villa. We saw the resort grounds where they keep the ponies and a massive bull (guests can go near them while they graze and take pictures and stuff). We also saw the silver hall and gold hall which could be booked for business conventions and/or weddings. I was just busy admiring the halls’ grand architecture, no matter what purpose they served😁. We saw an ancient prayer hall, now more like a monument (it no longer has a monk living in it, so it’s ok to go and take pictures inside). Once again it had very detailed architecture and worth taking pictures. WHEN WE PASSED BY THE SPA, I thought it was another ancient architectural gem, and was pleasantly surprised to know it was the spa! All of the above (and 100+ villas!!!), inside one resort😲.... gives you an idea of how massive this place is. We passed by several other villas and the greenery that surrounds them, before finally reaching the grand Villa. GRAND DELUXE VILLA WITH PLUNGE POOL: This Villa was just pure luxury. It was a two storied house, with the living room, plunge pool, sauna DOWNSTAIRS...... and the bedroom, attic, outdoor jacuzzi and couple of balconies UPSTAIRS. From the pool as well as from the balconies upstairs, there were some nice VIEWS OF THE RICE FIELDS AND LOTUS FLOWERS BLOOMING NEARBY. The complimentary WiFi has pretty good speeds (around 170 Mbps in my Villa, courtesy SpeedTest) THE POOL was very clean and was perhaps the most used part of the Villa in my case (day and briefly during the night too). Can’t recall how many shots of scotch I downed there. Its worth remembering that room service may take around 30 mins to bring the drinks to the Villa (if just drinks and no food ordered). While leaving, we were to come back to hotel from a sightseeing trip via Taxi and then take the Merc to airport..... considering the right schedule involved, the concierge offered the Merc (at a special rate) for the sightseeing trip so that we could directly go to the airport. That was certainly appreciated. Without doubt, I’d be planning a much longer stay here in future, so I can re-live the same amazing experience....only at a more relaxed pace.

Review:   Pure indulgence with incredible hospitality within beautiful surroundings. The Dhara Dhevi Resort takes you on an unforgettable journey into pure blissfulness from the moment you enter the magnificent entrance to the moment you leave and beyond. A 3 night stay left us feeling completely rejuvenated thanks to the Dhevi Spa for a series of ayurveda therapies and treatments that were truly wonderful and professional, to the staff who were so welcoming at every level and left us feeling well looked after especially with your own Butler. The food choices were exceptional with a number of onsite restaurants options catering for most tastes. My personal favourite was the cake shape with the best macaroons in town. A great experience to repeat in the future and fully recommended.

Review:   It is disgusting that in 2017 this hotel serves Shark Fin Soup in the Chinese restaurant. Such a pity as the staff are delightful especially the manager
