Overview
Lets Go Surfing is an award-winning business that's been voted one of Sydney's top 3 tourist activities. Started in the back of a van in 1995 by Brenda Miley, who then joined forces with Craig Wachholz (Wacca), our school has taught thousands of people from all around the world how to have awesome fun, reconnect with themselves, and add a little stoke to their lives through surfing. Today we are a licensed Surfing Australia Surf School, a member of the Surf Schools Association of Australia, and the only officially licensed surf school at famous Bondi Beach.
Part of the Lets Go Surfing recipe for success is a passionate team of surfers who thrive on sharing their surfing knowledge so that everyone can safely enjoy the ocean as much as we do. We've hand-picked the best local, national and international coaches who know how to have a good time but also hold the highest certifications including level 1 surf coaching accreditation, bronze medallion surf lifesaving, advanced resuscitation and first aid.
Over the years, Brenda has helped put female surfing on the map. She rode her first wave at the age of three (on her dad's back). Since then, the former physical education teacher has surfed on almost every continent; competed in the Australian Women's Surf Titles and has been involved in a stack of surfing bodies, from starting the Bondi Girls Surfriders Club to being the Women's Director for Surfing Australia.
Brenda and Wacca have lived at Bondi Beach for many years and are well-known and respected within the local community playing an active role in many initiatives including free surf education programs for residents and disadvantaged groups, and support for Bondi's Norman Andrews House for people facing homelessness.
We also make sure that the only footprints we leave are on the sand and work closely with Waverley Council and the NSW State Government on a range of community initiatives that help keep our beautiful beach a wonderful place to visit, play at and live.
