Overview

Naibor Camp is a luxury tented camp, a striking combination of contemporary style and comfort, in the heart of Kenya's world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. The camp is hidden in a grove of riverine woodland on the banks of the Talek River and consists of sweeping pale canvas tents, king sized beds made from local fig-wood, wide sofas furnished with bolster cushions, and wool rugs - a luxurious base from which to explore the Mara. Since Naibor is in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, guests are able to enjoy fabulous wildlife viewing throughout the year. Naibor is also strategically placed for the wildebeest migration, being close to all the major wildebeest crossing sites over the Mara River.

Dining and relaxing usually takes place in the main 'Mess Tent' or under the shade of the adjacent trees, ideally located overlooking a wide bend of the Talek river. Comfortable floor-cushions, rugs and sofas invite the weary to relax and enjoy the sounds of the wilderness. The evening camp-fire provides a welcome spot for pre-dinner drinks after a day of wildlife viewing. Meals are made from the finest fresh ingredients prepared by our experienced chefs. Dinner is usually enjoyed at the long banquet table, whilst breakfast and lunch may be under the shade of the surrounding trees whilst watching the resident pod of hippos.

Each guest tent is a private unit complete with shady verandah, his & hers wash basins, en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and safari shower, filled daily with hot water on request. The tents nestle amongst a riverine forest and are spaced so that each has a unique view of the surrounding bush and wildlife. The tents are furnished with solid, comfortable furniture so that you have the ultimate in camping-luxury to come back to after exciting game drives.

A dedicated team of staff attend to your every need. There is a private mess tent with light soft furnishings and spectacular views. Naibor Wilderness has a vehicle that will seat 6 people.

Naibor Wilderness can be used in conjunction with the main Naibor Camp and its facilities.

Naibor Camp in the heart of the Maasai Mara has launched a stunning new range of jewellery in their beautiful boutique that will excite guests from all over the world. Alongside these works of art from up and coming designer Rosie Sharp, Naibor also stays true to its roots by showcasing beautiful tribal pieces.

Designer Rosie Sharp has created a collection inspired from a life spent in the African bush and travelling the world. Having been trained by renowned jeweller Billy King in Mexico, Rosie's designs are clearly a mix of uber chic style and exotic elegance. Each piece is individually created by hand and uses natural and local products where possible. Having spent significant time at Naibor and with their guests from all over the world, Rosie has infused these experiences into her range at the boutique to match the ethos of the camp and its surroundings. Following the growing recognition of her talent Rosie hopes to extend her new jewellery designs to appeal to a broad and expanding global audience.

The Naibor driver/guides are all knowledgeable and professional, and have attained minimum guiding accreditation at the KPSGA Bronze level.

Bush meals and sundowners are popular, and are often enjoyed in conjunction with a game drive extra activity. Our "Out of Africa" style bush meals are set up for any number of people in a private exclusive location. Bush breakfasts and packed lunches can all be arranged. Sundowner cocktails are a popular way to enjoy the end of the day. Relax and enjoy the surrounding bush with a drink and bitings as the sun sets.
Cultural visits to the nearby Masai communities just outside the reserve can also be arranged. You can visit one of their villages, observe traditional dances and interact with these very traditional people.

Hot Air Ballooning can also be arranged for guests at Naibor. This involves an early morning wakeup to get to the balloon launch site for 6.00am, a flight of approximately 1.5hrs over the grasslands teeming with wildlife, champagne breakfast on landing and game drive back to Naibor.

For those wanting to enjoy the African night alone Naibor can arrange private meals outside your tent, dinners under the stars are ideal for couples and honeymooners.
