Enjoy this narrated walking tour through the historical Garden District!
The Garden District boasts the world's largest collection of 19th Century American Southern style mansions, and deserves a tour of its own!
This two hour walking tour is led by a highly trained historian tour guide. Your tour will begin with a tour of the Garden District, a living testament to the Golden Age of New Orleans. You will learn about the cultural splits that inspired Uptown expansion as you tour America's best collection of Antebellum mansions and 19th Century architecture. From 1850s Greek Revival to 1870s Italianates to 1890s Queen Annes, the Garden District is composed of exquisite homes designed by some of the city's most famed architects, oak-lined streets, and intricately manicured gardens. You will see the homes of former celebrity and athlete residents, as well as those that call it home today. A trip to New Orleans is simply not complete without a tour of its most famous Uptown neighborhood!
From here you will continue on with a visit to Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. Active since 1833, this "City of the Dead" is home to amazing crypts, above ground tombs and the setting for some of your favorite film and TV scenes.
