Zanzibar is fast becoming one of the top diving destinations in the world. Surrounded by coral reef structures abundant with marine life, good visibility (20-60metres) and a year round average temperature of 27 degrees C makes for an excellent diving experience. For those that are taking a trip to the island with the hope of learning to dive the Z Hotel has teamed up with the leading dive company in Nungwi, East Africa Dive Centre (EADC), offering a professional approach with the same high standards in safety and customer satisfaction that you would expect from a 5* Instructor Development centre.

The full range of courses from the International PADI system of diver education are available; from your first breath underwater to the wealth of specialty programmes to fit individuals needs Ocean wide. The numerous coral reefs off the coast of Nunwgi are teeming with a variety of fish such as Napoleon wrasse, graceful manta rays, sharks, kingfish, turtles, barracuda and wahoo. Divers will appreciate fantastic wall dives, night dives and drift dives off beautiful beaches, in warm and tropical waters and be rewarded with a rich variety of marine life.

Set in the crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar with its tropical climate, white powder beaches, rich cultural heritage and abundant coral reefs offers some of the best diving in the world. It is one of the last remaining areas of outstanding natural beauty unspoilt by tourism. Indeed Nungwi beach has recently been voted the 5th best beach in the world by the UK newspaper, The Guardian, which describes it as "to die for".

The Island's capital Stone Town is a designated World Heritage site and blends a culture steeped in the opulence of the Sultans with influences from Europe. Zanzibar then formed part of the Portuguese, British, Italian, and German Empires creating a unique legacy and almost mythical atmosphere.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   The perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself. The private beach is supercool and offers many opportunities for sporty or adventurous day trips. The pool is very nice for chilling and the open air restaurants offer great food. The cocktails for happy hour could be better. The staff is very friendly but from time to time there are some communication problems. All together 5 Stars for this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hotel!

Review:   Highly recommended. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are immaculate and the dining on the beach experience is seriously amazing. Part of the beach is kept reserved for the guests to make sure the guests aren't always being sold something. The food is great and the kitchen will work to meet dietary needs as best they can with what they have available. Oh, and the pool. What an amazing view from the infinity pool across the beach. We spent a week here and loved it.

Review:   Suites or penthouse floor is great. Service is very friendly. Food and drinks are very fairly priced, especially happy hour. Wifi was spotty though. Enough to get by for tourists but not if you have important things to do, such as business or video chats. If wifi was reliable it could be 5 stars.

Review:   The Z Hotel is a great little community comprised of wonderful restaurants, a beautiful beach, a great bar, and an amazing pool. Although the rooms are near-perfect, it would be a shame to stay in them because the outside area is so extraordinary. This hotel is a must if you go to Zanzibar.
