In the 1920s, an entire generation of American writers and artists left the United States for Europe. And where did they go? Well, the French Riviera of course! With breathtaking landscapes and a rich cultural past, the French Riviera was home to famous writers like Ernest Hemingway and Gertrud Stein. This excursion will take you on the journey that these inspiring figures went on. Visit sites like the Belles Rives Hotel in Juan-les-Pins before you journey through La Molle, Valescure and Agay Districts. Stop at Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial, a Second World War American military war grave cemetery that lies within the city of Draguignan. Enjoy a peaceful afternoon at Hemingway beach in the beautiful coastal town of Mandelieu. Feel the waves of the Mediterranean as they crash on the shore, the sound that lullabied Hemingway into a writer’s trance.
