Overview
A magnificent lodge is spread over 12 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and natural African bush land, bordering on a river lined with precious large old trees.
You will discover the comfortable open fireplace, our cozy Safari Bar, the famous "Migration Restaurant," and our Terrace Restaurant with spectacular views on Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
Finally, after a fresh fruit juice we will lead you through our tropical garden to your room. The scent of the Angel's Trumpet trees will blow you away -you have arrived in East Africa.
Our 21 spacious rooms are nested in a tropical garden that is famous for its botanical specimens. Small Dikdik Antelopes and Guinea fowls are roaming freely between the chalets and can be watched at close range. All rooms are tastefully decorated and permanently kept in mint condition.
Our Vegetables and Salads are grown without fertilizers in our own Vegetable gardens. The tab water is supplied from a mountain spring via a lodge owned pipeline. Here on the lodge we submit it to ultra-filtration and UV irradiation before we pump it to the chalets or use it to clean the vegetables. By these measures we establish the highest quality standards which allow our international guests to sample salads and vegetables unhesitatingly from our delicious menus or buffets. Bon appétit!
After lunch you may decide to stroll around in our gardens or just relax at the pool before you get ready for dinner and complete the day at the open fire in the Launch or in the cozy Safari Bar. Most of our Lodge Activities can be booked here on the Lodge on short notice (on the same day) and range from US$10 to US$150 per person.
The garden is our heart. Huge precious trees and a variety of tropical fruits, shrubs and flowers are generating a dreamlike environment.
This oasis boasts with birdlife. Hornbill, Ibis, Weavers, Mouse bird, Sunbirds, and Guinea Fowl, including the rare Vulturine Guinea Fowl are only few examples of birds that can be observed while enjoying a glass of wine on your verandah. Kingfishers can be spotted at the fishpond especially in the early morning hours. Small Dikdik antelopes that live on the lodge premises roam freely between the Chalets.
