Overview
You can actually taste the history!
Nested in the shadow of the Sydney Harbor Bridge you'll find "The Rocks", a charming neighborhood of brick streets, upscale restaurants, street performers and the reason you're here, some of Sydney's oldest and best-loved pubs.
With the guidance of a local, who's an expert on the history of Australia, Sydney's Rocks neighborhood, and most importantly, Australian alcoholic beverages, we're certain this will be a memorable time spent learning, and also imbibing. As you journey through Australia's first European settlement, your guide will take you to the most historic pubs in the Rocks neighborhood.
Beginning at the Heritage-listed Hart's Pub, you will get a choice of Australian beer, cider, or wine here and at each of your stops. Of course, your guide will provide insight into each pub's specialty.
Mingled with the pub visits will be fascinating historical and drinking facts about the Rocks, including how this area survived the bubonic plague and the definition of the 6 O'Clock Swill. You'll learn about Larrikin Gangs and their role in the history of The Rocks, and find out who won the fight for the title of "Syndey's Oldest Pub".
With as storied as the Rock's history is, there are bound to be myths, legends, and ghost stories. If you get frightened, have another beer!
