OverviewAn intimate experience in Sintra and the Estoril Coast! The epitome of Portugal's royal atmosphere, Sintra and the Estoril Coast offer more than just the finest beaches in the country. With colorful architecture, lively museums and breathtaking art, this area is perfect for those wanting a culturally rich experience while also enjoying incredible views of the Atlantic's turquoise water. You'll begin your journey with a scenic drive through Portugal's coastal mountain range that overlooks the ocean. Hiding behind each turn are luxurious royal palaces, chalets and aristocratic homes that showcase Portugal's gorgeous architectural styles and colors. Although your driver is not a licensed guide, he/she can give you some limited information about the area. Once in the romantic, historically rich city of Sintra - a UNESCO World Heritage Site you don't want to miss - you will take a short walk in the city center that will lead you to charming artisan and pastry shops settled in converted houses once occupied by prominent Portuguese families. Capture classic, local flavors over a relaxing lunch break in a traditional restaurant before continuing on to the picturesque town of Cascais. Once just a small fishing village, this town embraced its maritime traditions while fusing with the aristocratic and royal presences of the late 19th and early 20th century. It's hard not to compare Cascais to a seaside watercolor painting with its golden cliffs, dreamy beaches and wise fisherman. Walking through the town today, you'll experience a bustling center where urban excitement meets the Atlantic coast! - Cruise ship passengers will be met at the cruise terminal by a representative of the tour company, who will then escort them to the touring vehicle, about a 5-10 minute walk from the pier. Hotel guests will be picked up at their hotel. - This tour does not include a licensed guide, rather an English speaking driver. Please refer back to our list of tours to do this with a guide. - Food, beverages, entrance fees, and optional gratuities are not included in the price of this tour. - All palaces are closed December 25th and January 1st. - Please note: You will be charged an additional supplement for tours taking place on the weekend (Saturday, Sunday) or holidays.
