Welcome to Kenya
From the snowy peaks of Mount Kenya down to the sandy beaches on the Indian Ocean, Kenya really is a country celebrated for its remarkable beauty and distinguished contrasts. The vast open plains of Savannah and Acacia woodlands coincide splendidly with the harsh arid deserts in the North. From the tropical rain forests to the abundant rich estates of coffee and tea in the Central Rift and Southern parts of the country, Kenya truly is a marvel of nature.

Overview
Above the shores of Lake Naivasha set in a private 18,000 acre wildlife sanctuary Chui Lodge is a veritable oasis in the dry escarpment country of the Rift Valley.
The inspiration for the lodge's creation emanated from the Zwager family and also involved the local community and skilled craftsmen. Chui Lodge is built from simple bush stone, local Acacia, Olive and Leleshwa woods with a twisted marula roof.
There are 8 en suite individual and well-spaced luxurious cottages each with its own veranda and views of the Rift Valley escarpment and the sanctuary. All 8 bedrooms have magnificent four poster king size olive wood beds, roaring log fires, artistically decorated artwork and hand crafted furniture made in our onsite workshop. Three of these rooms: Oserian, Oloidien and Shemeji are deluxe and have more privacy, large cozy sitting rooms and a mini bar.
The dining room, lounge and bar area feature pillars and murals with intricate African carvings, African antiques and ochre colored each walls creating the feel of an artist's gallery.
A short walk from the main building and cottages is a heated swimming pool with views across the waterhole and the wildlife sanctuary beyond.
Catering is headed by our Chef Richard Langat and features an array of 5 star and much talked about international cuisine with many ingredients sourced locally including vegetables, fruits and dairy products from our own farm. A tepinyaki hot plate caters for those who would like something different.
In our continuing quest for sustainable conservation and sensible environmental management all electricity used at Chui Lodge comes from the geothermal power station at Oserian Flowers.
OLD: The Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary is an 18,000 acre conservation project aimed at sustaining the environment and the wildlife in Naivasha. It was founded in 1996 by Dutchman Hans Zwager and his family after the success of Oserian Flowers.
The Great Rift Valley, a massive fracture line in the earth's surface covering 6400km, runs from Jordan through Kenya and Tanzania, down to Mozambique. Meandering fresh and salt water lakes interspersed with volcanoes stretch across the length of the Rift Valley.
Much of Kenya's territory is reserved for its wildlife, with game reserves situated in some of the finest landscapes in Africa. The impressive diversity of the animal and bird life is second to none and the magnificent marine life in the picturesque coral gardens off shore is spectacular.
Chui Lodge, set in the privately owned Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary, is an exclusive and exquisite paradise nestled in a grove of Euphorbia trees, overlooking a waterhole with the dramatic Mau Escarpment as a backdrop. This setting epitomizes the Masai translation of the word Oserian as being a 'place of peace'.
