OverviewSee Key West from a whole new perspective. While Key West has a fascinating history on both land and sea, this tour focuses on the water. From the buccaneering period of 1650-80 to its importance during the Civil War, the Key West Harbor has played a significant role in Caribbean and US history. Our vessel is a former Navy launch...safe, sturdy and comfortable. With your very experienced captain at the helm, you can relax and enjoy the ride as he skillfully navigates his way through the harbor. Savor a craft beer, a glass of wine or champagne or a soft drink as you take in the coastline views. You'll learn about the Key West lighthouse, from its construction 1848 to assist the safe arrival of boats navigating the reef-laden waters off the Keys to its current status as a museum. Your knowledgeable captain will regale you with stories of pirates, buccaneering and shipwrecks and tell you about some of the legendary characters that are part of Key West's maritime past. As an added bonus, while sightings are not guaranteed, the odds are pretty good that you will see some of the local wildlife, such as bottlenose dolphin, manatees in the harbor, tarpon, cormorants, pelicans and ospreys. - Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunblock and your camera. - There is a restroom on board the boat. - Price includes gratuity for captain. - If you would like private transfers for your group, please contact ShoreTrips prior to booking. - This tour is not wheelchair accessible. - You must be 21 or older to consume alcoholic beverages.
