Learn about the tragedies and triumphs that have shaped the character of Haligonians over the centuries and learn why this vibrant city is said to be one of the best places to live in Canada.
Your tour begins at the Cruise Pavilion, once Canada’s entry point for new immigrants. From there you'll make your way up through tree-lined streets to Spring Garden Road. Stop to admire the unique architecture of the Halifax Public Library as you walk toward the Halifax Public Gardens, one of the finest Victorian gardens in all of North America.
The next stop is Citadel Hill, the perfect vantage point for a panoramic view of the city and its harbor and a great location for a photo as well!
What goes up must come down and as you descend the hills you climbed a while ago, the tour heads to the heart of Downtown Halifax. Youll pass by the Georgian-style City Hall and Province House, Canada's oldest house of government and stop to see the oldest building in Halifax, St. Paul’s Anglican Church. This lovely white wooden church was constructed in 1750 and is still home to a thriving congregation today.
The tour concludes at the beautiful Halifax Harbor. From here you will have the option of following the boardwalk back to your ship or browsing the shops and food vendors located at this lovely spot.
