OverviewYou'll cover more ground in less time on a Segway. Never tried a Segway? They're easier than you think and more fun than you imagined! There are so many interesting, beautiful, fun sites to see in Copenhagen. Many are fairly close together, yet far enough apart to make this Segway tour the perfect way to see the all the best in a relatively short amount of time. You'll be provided with a top-quality Segway, a helmet and a radio with earpiece. With expert instruction from your experienced guide and a little practice, you'll soon be comfortable with your new ride and ready to go. There's a lot to see, so let's get rolling! The tour sets out from Copenhagen's beautiful waterfront, free of cars and buses. You'll glide your way to some of the city's most iconic locations as your local guide narrates along the route. Your guide will make stops along the way for some great photo opportunities The Maritime Monument pays homage to those in the Danish Merchant Navy who lost their lives in World War One. Most popular of all sites in Copenhagen is, perhaps, The Little Mermaid Statue, from the beloved book of the same name, written by famous Dane, Hans Christensen Anderson. We'll pay a visit to the impressive Amalienborg Palace, home of the Danish Royal Family and stop to see the beautiful monument to Princess Marie of Orléans. The imposing Gefion Fountain is a site to behold. A base of large oxen are driven from above by the Norse Goddess Gefion. Throw a coin in the fountain and make a wish! The gliding continues, past the Marble Church, known for its rococo architecture, the sleek contemporary Royal Danish Playhouse and the architectural wonder that is the Copenhagen Opera House, all en route to Kings New Square. Located at the end of a pedestrian (and Segway) mall, with cobblestone streets and and equestrian statue at its center, this is the largest and most important square in the city. About half way through the tour, we'll make a stop at a welcoming cafe, where you'll find special discount pricing for Segway guests. The Citadel is not open to vehicular traffic but you'll roll right in on your Segway! See this still-functioning military base that is built in the unique Danish architectural style. We'll pass by the world-famous Tivoli Gardens, with its amusement park and flower gardens. Opened in 1843, it is the second oldest amusement park in the world. Odd Fellow Mansion, The Royal Danish Library, City Hall Square and the Danish Parliament are just a few more of the many fascinating stops along the way. As the tour comes full circle, you'll receive a complimentary beverage and a Segway souvenir before you make your way back to the ship. - If your ship docks at the Langelinie Pier, it is approximately a 1-2 minute walk to the meeting location for the tour. - If your ship docks at Ocean Quay Cruise Pier, you will need to take a 10 minute ($17-20) taxi ride to the starting point of the tour. - If your ship docks at Nordre Toldbod Cruise Pier, you may taxi a 5 minute ($12) taxi ride or make the 15 minute walk to the meeting point of your tour. - Specific meeting instructions will appear on your voucher once you have purchased the tour. - Please wear flat, comfortable shoes. No high heels. - This tour operates in most kind of weather, please dress accordingly. Rain ponchos provided in the event of rain. - There is a minimum of 2 passengers needed to operate this tour. - This tour can accommodate a maximum of 10 passengers. - The minimum age to participate is 14 years old. - The minimum height to participate is 4 feet 5 inches. - All passengers must weight between 80 and 275 pounds. - No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be allowed to take this tour. - This tour is not suitable for pregnant women.
