Overview
Wildlife photographers and biologists have been coming to Ndutu for decades, but besides the friendly atmosphere, appreciators of wildlife know that the Ndutu area attracts like minds as well as a huge variety of animals.
Spend some time with us and unwind. Relax to the rhythm of an African day as a myriad bird calls herald the rising sun. Stay close to the Lodge and enjoy our resident wildlife, or go for a drive and explore the range of habitats that lie within easy reach. After sunset return to the homely warmth and hospitality of Ndutu Safari Lodge.
Our friendly staff have been here for years wanting to welcome you and make you feel at home. Ndutu still has the informal, intimate feeling of the original bush camp, built by legendary hunter George Dove in the 60's. Now, comfortable cottages have replaced tents, but our main buildings place no barriers between you and nature.
At breakfast you will be delighted by iridescent birds, at lunch you may be entertained by a passing group of elephants, at dinner by an exquisite genet gliding over the rafters. Rest your eyes on a near tree or the distant view.
Sights abound, so do sounds. Listen to the murmurs of a million doves greeting the sunrise, a cacophony of guinea fowl as they startle away, the swish of a hawk through the clear air. Hyenas howling, zebras and jackals barking, the rich chorus of Ndutu rings round, night and day.
Ndutu airstrip (all weather, since April 2008) is 1 Kilometer away from the lodge. Approximate flying time from Arusha Airport to Ndutu is 50 minutes. Free transfers are available to transport guests to and from Ndutu airstrip to the lodge. Daily scheduled air service is available from Arusha to the Ndutu airstrip. Other airstrips in the vicinity are Seronera and Manyara.
