A Private Day In The North CotswoldsExplore > United Kingdom > London > A Private Day In The North CotswoldsOverviewA ride through England's most beautiful and idyllic countryside! This rural area of south-central England is a lovely, picturesque place, characterized by rolling hills, golden yellow stone and Medieval villages. How can you resist? Rather than spending a good share of your time in a vehicle traveling through traffic out of London, we have found great success with this avenue of adventure. We will arrange for your train tickets from London to Moreton-in-Marsh. The train will give you more freedom on your journey and also the experience of a train trip in the UK, a much preferred method of movement. You will be met by your guide at the Moreton-in-Marsh station to begin what is sure to be one of the most delightful and memorable days of your trip. There are many places to explore and your guide will help you choose the itinerary for the day. One of the lovely towns you might visit is Snowshill, one of the Cotswold's hidden gems. This charming village is filled with stone cottages and a historic church. If you visit in the summer, the beautiful color and delightful scent of the lavender fields are not to be missed. Both Upper and Lower Slaughter are images of the quintessential English village. The limestone cottages and tidy lawns will make you feel you have stepped into a story book. The town of Chipping Camden is well-known for its elegant terraced High Street, with buildings dating from the 14th-17th centuries. Once an important wool town, Chipping Camden has some beautiful gardens for strolling. Broadway Tower stands high on top of Fish Hill and provides spectacular views of the surrounding villages and countryside. With a deer farm located next door, you are sure to see doe and fawns sauntering by. Stow-on-the-Wold is a trading center and has been for centuries. Positioned at the intersection of several major roads, the impressive market square, the Porch House Inn (the oldest inn in England) and St. Edward's Church all make Stow-on-the-Wold a must see. Stanton is another truly lovely town. Nestled under the slopes of Shenbarrow Hill, it has remained almost unchanged for 300 years. Take some time to wander the streets and enjoy the well-tended gardens. The magnificent Stanway House, with its gates, fountain and formal gardens, is the focal point of the town of Stanway. You will be impressed with the stunning architecture and beautiful grounds. - Please dress comfortably for the day, in layers. - Food, beverages, gratuities are not included in this tour. - Your train tickets are not included in the cost of this tour.
