When you're in Milan, you're so close to the natural beauty of Lake Como and the classic Italian towns of Como and Bellagio. Don't miss it. Just a short, comfortable drive from Milan brings you to the charming city of Como. This picturesque town has lively streets and a busy waterfront and has attracted writers and artists for many years. Your knowledgeable local guide will stroll along the cobblestone streets of the city center with you, informing you about Como's art, architecture, traditions and history. You'll see the Gothic Como Cathedral and walk the waterfront promenade. To get a different perspective, you'll board a boat for a ride on the world-famous Lake Como. Surrounded by the foothills of the Alps, romantic and beautiful Lake Como is known for its deep blue water and dramatic landscapes. For an hour or so, you will cruise the lake, enjoying views of the mountains and villages built into the rocky cliffs. One of the villages you will see from the lake is Bellagio, a quintessential Italian landscape with charming homes and lavish villas rising from the shore. Known as the "Pearl of Lake Como" this lovely town has steep stairways, winding cobblestone alleys, charming stores and is the perfect place to stop for lunch. Your guide will be happy to recommend a lovely restaurant or cafe with a view of the lake. After lunch, you'll tour 2 of Bellagio's iconic villas. Situated on the shores of Lake Como, the Villa Melzi d'Eril is built in the neo-classical style and now houses a museum. It was decorated by many famous artists of the time and boasts gorgeous gardens stretching along the shores of the lake. A 10 minute ferry ride from Bellagio brings you to Tremezzo, home to Villa Carlotta. Nestled between the mountains and Lake Como, this stunning 17th century, sprawling estate is spread out over more than 17 acres, and contains an impressive art museum and magnificent botanical gardens. - The drive from Milan to Lake Como is approximately 90 minutes each way. - Cost of all attractions, transfers and boat ride are included in the price of the tour. - Food, drinks and lunch are not included in the price of the tour. - A dress code is in effect to enter places of worship and selected museums. NO SHORTS OR SLEEVELESS TOPS ALLOWED. KNEES AND SHOULDERS MUST BE COVERED FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN.
