A day you will remember...
Bienvenidos (welcome to) Xochimilco! This is the sign you will see as you are introduced to one of the world's hidden treasures, and welcomed you will be! With your guide's assistance you'll board a colorful open air gondola and begin your journey through the canals of Xochimilco.
As you glide through the waters you will be passed by musicians and refreshment vendors in other boats. Traditional snacks and beer are available for you to purchase and once you are settled we recommend inviting a Mariachi band on board to provide the ideal atmosphere for this setting. This is a place for families and friends to celebrate and the energy is mesmerizing.
We will also visit the home of Dolores Olmedo, now a museum and open to the public. This ancient farmhouse from the XVI century houses a collection of works of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. The house is surrounded by gardens - worthy of their own visit, and a variety of animals including peacocks and Xoloitzcuincles (Mexican hairless dogs).
- Food and beverages are not included in the tour cost.
- Entrance fees are not included in the tour cost and will need to be paid in pesos.
- While at Xochimilco, you will have a choice in duration of boat ride. This is not included in the tour cost and can be paid directly to your escort.
- The Museo Dolores Olmedo is closed on Mondays. If you are visiting on a Monday an alternative stop will be suggested.
