Icelandic Cuisine In A Private HomeExplore > Iceland > Reykjavik > Icelandic Cuisine In A Private HomeOverviewThe world would be a better place if we all did a tour like this! Sharing traditional cuisine in the home of a resident is such a wonderful way to connect with the local culture. You can rest assured you are in for a delightful experience, as all of our hosts are fully vetted before getting the "thumbs up" to welcome people into their home. And welcomed you will be to the home of this talented, interesting Reykjavik couple who are anxious to share their love of traditional Icelandic cooking with you. Relax and become comfortable as you and your hosts get to know one another over a glass of wine. Then enjoy a demonstration of the cooking methods used for generations as your host prepares two of his family's favorite recipes. Although the menu will vary based on the season and availability, you can be sure you are in for a culinary treat. The meal begins with a time-honored appetizer, using the fresh and plentiful fish for which Iceland is known. A crisp salad and perhaps salmon, maybe roast lamb, will be presented in a manner that is as beautiful as it is delicious. Make sure you save room for dessert, the finale to an exquisite meal. It could be yogurt pie or a summer fruit pie, both homemade and divine. - Tour cost includes your meal as well as 2 glasses of wine per person. - You will meet your hosts at their home, which is within walking distance of downtown Reykjavik. More information will be provided on your voucher. - Please alert ShoreTrips in advance of any dietary restrictions or food allergies. We will do our best to accommodate. - You must purchase a minimum of 4 spaces. - The minimum age for alcohol consumption is 20 years old. - Book early in order to avoid the disappointment of sell-outs. Please note we may have alternative tour options at a higher cost. - This tour is only available in English and Icelandic. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
