So you're going to Canada, eh? And you want to eat poutine, eh? Well lucky for you this culinary experience will take you beyond poutine and introduce you to a selection of Canadian favorites. Visiting seven of Victoria's most 'Canadian' and historic establishments this will be more than a food tour.
2017 marked the 150th anniversary of the formation of Canada as a country and our goal today is to provide an overview of traditional Canadian specialties from each region of the country, as well as more recent trends. Our selection of tastings will include Canadian salmon, poutine, Nanaimo bars, maple syrup and even beaver tail (not a real beaver tail but a well-loved Canadian dessert)! There will be more too, but we'll let your guide surprise you.
End your day with a new found appreciation for Canadian culture, history and food.
- This tour will take you to 7 local establishments, all specializing in Canadian cuisine.
- Tour distance covers approximately 1.5-2 miles.
- Meeting location is approximately 10 minutes walking from the cruise ship terminal, and located near downtown Victoria for hotel guests.
- Please be aware the starting point and the ending points of this tour are not the same. The tour ends on Government Street. Cruise ship guests have the option of walking back to the cruise pier (20 minute walk), taking a taxi ($10-$15) back to the cruise pier or taking the shuttle ($15 round trip) back to the cruise pier. The shuttle picks up at Government St and Broughton St. Look for the big sign on the street indicating the pickup location. You must be on the shuttle a minimum of 1 hour before your ship sails.

- This tour requires a minimum of 2 passengers and accommodates up to 10 passengers per group.
- This tour is available from May - September.
- This tour includes one cocktail and one glass of wine. You must be at least 19 years old to consume alcohol. Kids can join the tour and an alternative beverage will be provided.
- This tour provides at least 10 tastings/samples but should not be considered a full meal.
- Please alert us to any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate. We cannot accommodate shellfish allergies.
- Tour runs rain or shine.
