Overview
A cooking lesson and a culture lesson - a real treat!
We hope you have worked up an appetite for new culture!
Pasta is the quintessential dish of Italy. The word first appeared in Sicily in 1154 and has been perfected ever since. You are in for a real treat and will not only learn the art of pasta preparation but will also get to enjoy the meal you prepare.
This is a rare experience usually only had by those who know a local themselves. You will be invited in to the home of a local chef who has a passion for sharing his knowledge. The apartment building is a piece of history in and of itself and dates all the way back to the 1400s.
We will start from scratch and prepare three different kinds of pasta as well as three different kinds of sauce. Each has a different history, which you will learn, as well as proper pairings and cooking traditions of the region.
End your day with a full stomach, and a deeper affection for Italian culture.
