Filerimos And The Medieval City Of RhodesExplore > Greece > Rhodes > Filerimos And The Medieval City Of RhodesOverviewExplore the Palace of the Knights! Lindos and Rhodes might be in Greece but if you look at a map you will realize it is about as far away as you can get from the mainland as possible. This isn't to say it lacks Greek culture but it certainly has created a life of its own within the Mediterranean Sea. After disembarking the cruise ship you will be met by your English speaking guide who will escort you with through some of the most intriguing aspects of the area. Your first stop will bring you to Mt. Filerimos which is a hill looking over the small town of lalyssos and the bay of Ixia and Trianda. From here you will soak in views of the Aegean sea. At the very top will you find that Monastery of Filerimos which remains almost unchanged from its original creation. This is popular spot for wedding ceremonies and provides one of the best ambiances on the entire island. The views above down to the streets is incredible and now you will make your way into the capital city of Rhodes to explore this famous medieval city. From the gate (there are 7 gates!) you will travel on foot and walk past the Palace of the Knights and onwards to the Street of the Knights where you eventually come to your main attraction, the National Archaeological Museum. The Knights theme continues as the exhibits are in the "Hospital of the Knights" which was constructed in 1489. This jump into Greek history is captured within a remarkable setting and has artifacts as old as 550 BC. Following a stop for refreshments and some free time around Rhodes you will return to the port of Lindos. - Please wear comfortable walking shoes. - No entrance fees are not included in the price of the tour. Filerimos (6 Euros). Palace of the Knights (6 Euros). Archaeological Museum (8 Euros). - Tours on Sundays and holidays will incur a surcharge Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
