Overview
Explore the city by the reef!
Considering how massive Australia is, it would be unreasonable to assume that things in the south are the same as things in the north. This half-day tour will immerse you in the rich and unique cultural heritage of Far North Queensland. You are closer to Papa New Guinea than you are to Sydney!
The tour starts at St. Monica's Cathedral with a step inside one of the most beautiful buildings in Australia. This location is home to the world's largest themed stained glass windows that will have you wondering if you are actually staring at a movie screen. After a stop at a local's favorite spot for scones and tea, you will journey to the Flecker Botanic Gardens. A guided walk through the gardens will showcase one of the best exhibitions in Australia of tropical plants as Cairns provides the perfect climate for them to thrive.
Stunning lookouts over Cairns and into Lower Barron Gorge National Park will be the highlight of your trip. If the weather is right, soak in the sounds of a nearby waterfall cascading through the rain forest. The final destination will be Palm Cove. This inviting location is one of the most beautiful spots in the area, so take a stroll along the jetty or dig your toes into the sand. This is what Cairns is all about and you won't find it down south!
