Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Fantastic and elegant hotel. Beds are amazingly comfortable. Lobby and entire inside of hotel is extremely beautiful. Morning breakfast buffet is amazing. We did have slow service at dinner. A wedding was going on. I would be careful about planning and eating a meal here, unless you were sure that the staff can be dedicated to those patron sitting in the restaurant. I did not deduct from the entire hotel rating because of this. I knew it was an anomaly. And I’m rat8ng the hotel, not the restaurant.

Review:   We went here for high tea. The space is lovely and everything is presented very well, served on Wedgewood. Service was a little slow, ie it took a while to get seated (when we’d booked), and for the tea and food to come out. The food is really nice, including fresh scones, homemade pastries and a number of savoury options. Whilst the food is good, and the setting is nice, it is too expensive for what you get. I’ve been to plenty of high teas that include your champagne for the $80, here you pay an extra $20. My biggest gripe is not only are you paying $100 for few pieces of food and a wine, when you go to pay your bill, there’s Card fee for every card used (who carries cash these days?). Most venues do not do this anymore and it puts a dampener on your already significant bill. Venues elect to pass on this fee. There’s also not much atmosphere. The empty piano would benefit from being played during service.

Review:   Great hotel - comfortable, clean and accommodating. Only disappointment, which sounds minor but was quite upsetting, was my partner had planned with staff to write 'congratulations Alyssa' on the cheese platter we had ordered to our room, but when it was delivered there was nothing written. Although it's minor, I would expect better from such an otherwise great hotel.
