Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   This hotel was in a great spot right by the bridge. My husband and I love autograph collection hotels. The inside had all this cool reclaimed wood. They gave us champagne at check in, and since we have status we got the breakfast for free. The buffet was the best we had in Australia. I loved it.

Review:   If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... Such a brilliant location. If you're a visitor to Australia and want to see the iconic sights of Sydney Harbour bridge and the Opera house, they're right on your doorstep here! You're surrounded by harbour here (as the name suggests, it's located on the docks where industrial goods etc used to come into Sydney). You can see goat island etc. from the bar. It's also a quick (but steep) walk up to the middle of the Rocks. The breakfast is great - brilliant range of high quality fresh food. I was fortunate enough to come here for our work conference. The conference/meeting facilities are also awesome (but it's very distracting looking out onto the harbour). Lastly, the rooms are really nice (and equipped with nice furnishings and tech). Not large windows, but I can imagine the rooms facing the water have a great view!

Review:   Pros: Brian and Jose were both great and helped us with suggestions for food, tourism and other items for our room. Overall, everyone is very nice. Cons: Our room was very small and was not Harbor facing. I requested a room with a view and was told it would be a significant up-charge, which I agreed to pay. The front desk said were going to move us when a room became available, but no one ever called us back. I requested a room move on the first 3 days at the front desk, but again, no one ever responded and I finally gave up 4 days in.

Review:   If you book this place for your wedding, understand that you will be booking for the views. Service is definitely lacking. I had to hunt down staff to get more drinks/water glass refilled. For the amount that you pay, I'd expected better service. The food was lacking any depth, and just blasted your taste buds with saltiness. Of all the venues I've been to for a wedding, this was by far the worst in terms of food and service. The tea at the end of the night reminded me of a Hong Kong cafe, where they just poured it out of a thermos, instead of the standard hot water and your choice of tea bag. Had to constantly remind the service staff that the lady next to me was a vegetarian, despite it being written on the table... And the ?floor manager seemed more interested in folding the napkins of empty seats rather than attending to the people who were actually seated. The wedding cake was served without cutlery and plates, so many ended up foregoing it, or eating with their fingers as it was impossible to flag down staff. If you have the money and wanna blow it for views, go right ahead. But if you want your guests to enjoy the night and it's offerings, take your money elsewhere.
