Beach View of the Resort
The Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa is located on the east coast of the Zanzibar Island, in an area known as Kiwengwa. The Zanzibar Island lies 35 KM off the eastern coast of Africa and is one of the two main islands of an autonomous state within the larger republic of Tanzania.

Overview
The Resort is on the most beautiful 30-acre site with its bedroom cottages located on rising ground overlooking verdant gardens, the public areas, the pool, the more than 1,000 beautiful palm trees, the sparkling white beach and the azure seas beyond.
Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa will be celebrating it's 10th anniversary in December 2009. In the last two years, various refurbishments and upgrades have taken place, the major one being from April to July 2008 when the Resort was closed for a face-lift of all rooms. Brand new makuti (intricate palm thatch) roofs were installed as well as the servicing and replacement of all electrical equipments and appliances. The facelift also included a complete replacement and redesign of all soft furnishings (all curtains, cushions and bedspreads) and new concept for all the Restaurants.
Located behind the Junior Suites in beautiful landscapped GARDENS. They are in 03 bungalows each with 02 ensuite bedrooms. Each Room is at least 45 Sq. Metres. Bedroom cottages located on rising ground overlooking verdant gardens, the public areas, the pool, the sparkling white beach and the azure seas beyond. All the rooms in this category are SEA VIEW. Made up of 3 bungalows each with 02 interconnected Suites, in a private area, closer to the Ocean (hardly 30metres from the beach). All sea view, Large rooms (at least 90 Sq Metres) with a lounge area incorporated in the room, an extensive external Verandah and a very unique, external garden shower (in back of room and enclosed in private compound). For more than 200 years, the islands of Unguja and Pemba along with much of the coast of Eastern Africa was ruled by the mighty Sultans of Zanzibar. They lived in splendor in their magnificent palaces where large, spacious rooms contained every creature comfort imaginable. At Bluebay Beach Resort, we have two "super-deluxe" rooms where we feel sure that the Sultans themselves would have wanted to stay.
The Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa caters for the tastes and interests of both those who prefer whiling away on the beach and those who like their holidays filled with activity.
