Overview
Explore one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
Often these days when people say the word "beautiful" it just goes in one ear and out the other. After getting back from a trip you might hear someone say "ohhhhh it was so beautiful" and then you instantly hope they move on to their next thought. Beautiful this. Beautiful that. The word is losing its meaning. Well, if we could rewind to the first utterance of the word, then Sydney would be one of the most appropriate places to accept that label. See what we did there? We gave power back to the word.
After a pickup from your area hotel, you will head over to Observatory Hill, which provides a panoramic view of the harbor that perfectly frames the iconic Sydney Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House. From a gazebo platform you will learn all about the first fleet and convicts that served as the foundation of the Sydney "rocks" neighborhood. From the hill you will make your way to the well known Mrs. Macquarie's Chair for an additional vantage point of the harbor. Mrs. Macquarie was the wife of the governor of New South Wales from 1810 to 1821 and this location quickly became known as one of her favorite spots in the entire city.
Although the stunning views of the harbor bring in the tourists, the beaches here are what make the locals fall in love.
Once at Watson Bay, you will learn why many refer to Sydney as the "Emerald City." The beautiful coastal views and a chance to get some mouthwatering seafood at Doyle's restaurant, which has been around since 1845, makes this a great spot just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Back across Sydney, you will also stop at Balmoral Beach, which provides perfect swimming areas for families and office workers skipping out on the day a little bit early.
The tour will finish up at the famous Bondi Beach for a walk along the Esplanade. Learn about the surfers who flock to its waters and the lifesaving clubs who watch their every move. This beach epitomizes the Sydney lifestyle! From here, you can choose to stay at the beach on your own while returning to the hotel at your own pace, or have your guide bring you to Circular Quay or Darling Harbour. This is the perfect overview of Australia's most BEAUTIFUL city.
