This was the Age of Discoveries and the Golden Era of Portugal, transforming Lisbon into the opulent center of a vast empire. Finally, make sure to check out the traditional commercial downtown, which was totally rebuilt in the 18th century following a huge earthquake. Of course, it is said that any visitor to Lisbon must also visit the romantic town of Sintra, Portugal's ex-libris, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Once just a small fishing village, this town managed to maintain its seafaring traditions while melding with the aristocratic and royal presences of the late 19th and early 20th century. Passing through its animated town center, you’ll find the cosmopolitan life side-by-side with the Atlantic. From this area you'll also have a great view of the Estoril Casino and its gardens. Your guide will take you on a sightseeing tour along the coastal road of Estoril, one of the most beautiful and charming itineraries of all the Lisbon surroundings. - Cruise ship passengers will be met at the cruise terminal by their guide, who will then escort them to the touring vehicle, about a 5-10 minute walk from the pier.
