Tongass National Forest Treasure Hunt HikeExplore > United States > Ketchikan > Tongass National Forest Treasure Hunt Hike
OverviewThis is a friendly competition. There is treasure for all! Alaska and adventure go hand in hand. What better way to become one with the wilderness than a "challenge by choice" geocaching competition in the heart of the Tongass National Forest? A narrated transfer from the cruise pier will familiarize you with the flora and fauna known to Alaska. Upon arrival at Knudson Cove, it's all aboard. We're taking a 30-minute cruise to a remote island so that you can really become one with nature. As you prepare your competitive side, keep a look out for whales, sea lions, seals, porpoise, and even bald eagles. Land ho! After orienting yourself with your GPS and familiarizing yourself with your new teammates, the real fun begins. Each GPS is pre-programmed with coordinates. The rules are simple. Each discovered coordinate reveals the next, and once you reveal all coordinates, you'll find your treasure hidden on the beach. The trees here are as old as the land itself. Old growth forests that have not been touched by us humans reach high into the sky. Once all of the treasures have been found, enjoy sitting around a campfire to enjoy a nourishing snack prepared by your guide. - This tour operates in all weather conditions.
