Overview

Explore one of the most beautiful harbors in New Zealand.

Your local captain has been boating through these waters for years and will take you to the best photo stops and wildlife viewing areas, and away from the large boats of people from the cruise ships.

When on vacation, it would be silly to just rent a boat and try exploring unknown waters, primarily for safety reasons, but also because of a general lack of knowledge of your surroundings. There isn't a gas station you can pull over to and ask for directions. Well, luckily, there is a local skipper who has been sailing the waters around Akaroa for decades who loves his boat and enjoys showing off the beauty of where he lives. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

After meeting him at the pier, you will hop aboard his small, but spacious, boat that was built in the beautiful New Zealand city of Akaroa. A top viewing deck, back deck, foredeck, saloon, and wheelhouse provide plenty of room to move around and jump between the warm cabin and fresh coastal air. Spectacular scenery is a mainstay along the horizon as you search for Hector dolphins, New Zealand fur seals, and the famous albatross. If you're lucky, your captain may even throw in a fishing line to see what he can pull up from the waters below. Feel free to shoot him some questions as you navigate the gorgeous inlets that carve the coast. Tales of the region and wildlife will provide the perfect accompaniment to its top shelf views.

- Please bring a warm jacket as it can get cold out on the water.
- There is no food or drinks provided on board, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks.

- This tour takes a maximum of 30 passengers.
