Drive to Kuala Lumpur and visit the National Museum. The country’s premier museum is a repository for the nation’s rich heritage and history. Built in 1963, the façade features a Minangkabau-styled roof with two impressive murals on the front of the building. As you continue on, you'll pass by the Houses of Parliament and the Lake Garden, which served as a place of refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city during colonial times. Next, you'll proceed past The National Mosque. Built in 1965, it is Malaysia’s principal place of worship and one of the most prominent building in the city.
Now it's on to Merdeka Square (also known as Independence Square), which is located in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This is the historical place where the Union Flag was lowered and the Malayan flag was raised for the first time on August 31, 1957.
Before your return journey, proceed to Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest buildings in the world until 2004 and still the tallest set of twin towers ever constructed. This is, without a doubt, the most memorable symbol of Kuala Lumpur.
