Immerse yourself in a comfortable way among the locals.

Our mental picture of Denali and Alaska itself is often one of isolation, white as far as one can see, and a hardy lifestyle. Try this excursion and see the reality of living in our 49th state.

This Tour Includes:
- Round trip transfers from your lodge or a designated lodge nearby
- Time with local residents for mingling
- Narration of the Alaskan lifestyle
- Sled dog-pulled cart ride

Delve into life in the north on this adventure, where dogs play a role in daily activities and so does the wilderness. Although this would technically be categorized as a soft adventure, it will allow you a glimpse into the lifestyle in northern Alaska. As nature and sightings change daily when life is essentially in the control of outside factors, your trip may include the viewing of live caribou, which have been so important to the Denali area and perhaps some other animals that might hang around.

This cultural immersion allows you a chance to mingle with real Alaskans, not just those who come north in the summer for jobs, but people who make their home and their living in this wilderness so unfamiliar to most of us. Residing here year round and raising their families, they will tell you their challenges, but also why they stay.

Woodsmen, trappers, and hunters will tell you tales and real stories. The tricks they have learned about their professions during their years with the mines, prospecting, trapping, and hunting will round out your prospective on life up north. Enjoy a seat at the camp, some local snacks, and a discussion about nature before heading out on a dog sled-pulled cart with Mt. McKinley in the background, if the weather cooperates.

It may be that your next Christmas card photo will come from this adventure!
