Ancient Delos: Dolphins, Lions, And GodsExplore > Greece > Mykonos > Ancient Delos: Dolphins, Lions, And GodsOverviewExplore the unique archaeological site of Delos. This was once considered the most important trade center of the Cyclades island group and an important stop within the Mediterranean. Welcome to Delos, a large archaeological site revered in ancient times as the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, and now home to unique archaeological monuments. Its many ancient remains include the temple of Apollo and the Terrace of the Lions. Join your licensed guide for an approximately two hour tour of the site, including the Lions Walk, the Naxos marble lions, and the ruins of three temples consecrated to Apollo. Of special interest are the houses and workshops, some of which have amazing mosaics still visible, such as the House of the Dolphins. The story of this island and its development is incredible and it is hard to determine what is reality and what is myth. - This is a walking tour with part of the program taking place on narrow cobble-stoned streets and uneven terrain. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. - The entrance fee to the Delos archaeological site is not included in the price of the tour and costs 7 euros per person. - Please note that the Sunday Supplement also applies to the following Public Holidays in 2020: January 1; March 2nd; March 25th, April 17th-19th; May 1st; June 8th; August 15th; October 28th and December 25th and 26th. - Supplement is per group and not per person.
