Each of the 37 guest accommodations offers space and privacy in a style that fully embodies and compliments the natural surroundings. Views of the ocean come standard. Craft furnishings and decorations come straight from Nicaraguan artisans – carved native teak tables, sugarcane twig headboards and rum barrel staves. In Bohios, Beach Villas or in the crown jewel, Casona Don Carlos, make yourself at home.
Dishes created by our culinary team grace our menus and bring innovative creations to our tables. Many of La Mesa dishes in high demand are Dover Sole Sashimi with Japanese Rice; Croquette and Ponzu Foam; and Homemade Pappardelle with Wild Mushrooms, Cream, Veal Cheeks and Truffle Oil.
If there’s one place you should dine during your stay, it’s La Mesa. This private dining room by the sea offers Mesoamerican ingredients and incredible décor of mementos and photography chronicling the 135-year history of the Pellas family in Nicaragua. And while you’re here, get in touch with more history with our legendary, world-acclaimed and award-winning Flor de Caña rums.
The Spa Mukul includes six experiences housed in six individual, private spa suites, each equally harnessing a different ancient healing tradition, often using local Nicaraguan ingredients. This isn't a spa where you check in at the front desk or wait in reception. Instead, you are personally escorted to your pre-booked private spa for the day.
Mukul isn’t a secret you can tell through only sights and sounds. This is a secret that requires a full, uncharted experience complete with excursions to nearby beaches and villages, tastes of authentic food and legendary Flor de Caña rum and short helicopter rides to beautiful islands and fascinating volcanoes. Once you’re immersed in all of Mukul’s activities, don’t be surprised if you find yourself hiking up the dramatic cliffs to shout the secret to the world.
Mukul is closer than you think. International flights to Nicaragua land at Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua, the nation’s capital, and are short two- to three-hour jaunts from major transportation hubs like Miami, Houston, Ft. Lauderdale and Atlanta. Easy flights are also available from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, New Orleans, Washington, D.C. and Dallas.
After landing, Mukul is only a scenic 120-minute ride away from the airport. Our staff will arrange for your personal resort butler to greet you at the airplane, to assist with luggage and customs paperwork, and drive you to Mukul via luxury coach (and back to Augusto C. Sandino International Airport at the conclusion of your stay).
