"Had half a dozen trips set up through Piper before COVID hit. She has been a champ with cruises cancelling, flights changing, cancelled plans, rescheduling, etc. Have rebooked several for next year and she is always happy to help and very detail oriented. It is especially helpful to have someone you know will be "on the other end of the line" when travel plans change, flight connections are missed or changed. Overview
Modern without being intimidating, South Point offers a compelling combination of comfort and luxury in the stunning waterfront setting of Antigua’s historic English Harbour. Our beautifully appointed open-plan Beachfront Suites are spacious and stylish and offer stunning views across the marina and bay.
As you’d expect, they come with top quality amenities such as uber-modern bathrooms, the beds boast crisp cool linen sheets and there is sleek, fully equipped kitchen -with complimentary Tea, Coffee and Mineral Water -to ensure you feel right at home.
Our twenty Beachfront Suites are designed to provide the ultimate Caribbean pied-à-terre -with calming tones and chic European styling bringing a uniquely cool urban vibe to the tropics. We also have three superb Penthouse Suites which are ideal for two couples or a small family or group of friends. Each Penthouse has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, an open plan lounge, living and dining area and a stylish kitchen. The large terrace is furnished for both relaxation and for dining al fresco.
Attractive tropical gardens extend past the Restaurant and Fitness Centre (expected opening December 2015) to where the swimming pool provides the ideal spot to relax in the sun or under the shade of a palm tree from the comfort of your lounger. There is even a small beach for those who relish feeling the sand between the toes! It’s a great place to savour an eye-opener espresso mid-morning (pool service, no problem!) or alternatively sip a chilled and refreshing sundowner as the vibrant Antiguan sunset paints the sky inimitable shades of orange, purple and red.
South Point Kitchen -with the dining deck extending out into the bay itself- is sure to become a favorite choice for lunch or dinner during your stay. It’s signature sharing plate menu features authentic flavors from the best of Asian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine; the service is attentive but relaxed.
Our Lounge Bar, on the upper level is where we serve our complimentary continental breakfast. Later, the excellent cocktails and discerning wine list may tempt you back for an early evening beverage, or perhaps a final post prandial brandy and cigar!
With it’s fascinating mix of magnificent mega-yachts, transatlantic sailors and day charter sailboats and catamarans, marina life in English Harbour provides an unforgettable backdrop to your stay at Antigua’s newest and most stylish (we think!) boutique hotel. The nearby cafes, gelateria, nightlife and sports facilities attract international visitors and help to give English Harbour a vibrancy that is both charmingly Caribbean and cosmopolitan at the same time!
At South Point we intend to make you feel as welcome as you would feel as a guest in the house of a long held friend. Expect to feel comfortably at home.
Antigua (pronounced An-tee'ga) and Barbuda are located in the middle of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean, roughly 17 degrees north of the equator. To the south are the islands of Montserrat and Guadeloupe, and to the north and west are Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Barts, and St. Martin.
Temperatures generally range from the mid-seventies in the winter to the mid-eighties in the summer. Annual rainfall averages only 45 inches, making it the sunniest of the Eastern Caribbean Islands, and the northeast trade winds are nearly constant, flagging only in September. The island enjoys low humidity year round.
The Trade Winds that once blew British men-of-war safely into English Harbour now fuel one of the world's foremost maritime events, Sailing Week. The expansive, winding coastline that made Antigua difficult for outsiders to navigate is where today's travelers encounter a tremendous wealth of secluded, powdery soft beaches.
The coral reefs, once the bane of marauding enemy ships, now attract snorkelers and scuba divers from all over the world. And the fascinating little island of Barbuda - once a scavenger's paradise because so many ships wrecked on its reefs - is now home to one of the region's most significant bird sanctuaries.
Antigua, the largest of the English-speaking Leeward Islands, is about 14 miles long and 11 miles wide, encompassing 108 square miles. Barbuda, a flat coral island with an area of only 68 square miles, lies approximately 30 miles due north. The current population for the nation is approximately 68,000 and its capital is St. John's on Antigua.
With 365 beaches to choose from you’re definitely spoilt for choice. Most are on the Westerly Caribbean side of the island and all beaches are public but rarely crowded. Some are quite remote and easier to access by sea. However you get there, you’re sure to find a beach that’s perfect for you!
