Ahau offers Daily Yoga classes and sunrise meditation in our beautiful oceanfront Yoga Studio. Private yoga sessions & therapeutic massage treatments are even available at the comfort of your own deck. Yoga is a physical and energetic, moving meditation, we create a non- competitive atmosphere where everyone can work at their own pace. The main benefit of practicing yoga is expanding consciousness and opening our hearts to the beauty of the interconnectedness of life.

A professional Kite & Paddle School with the most modern equipment, IKO-certified instructors, and an ideal location right on in the beach at Ahau Tulum. We've chosen the name of Kin Ahau - Sun God - Ahau lives by spirit and operates from universal heart - Ahau is universal consciousness. It is represented by the crown chakra. Ahau prepares us to enter what the Mayans call The itza age, also referred to by the Tibetans as the Golden Age - Satya Yuga initiating the healing process for the entire planet and humanity, thus initiating the age of Enlightenment, knowledge and peace.

Ahau is located on the beach of Tulum town, a truly unique place tucked away in the jungle. Tulum is about living an ecological and sustainable lifestyle. During high season in the winter and spring, Tulum is a mecca for artists and musicians from all over the world who come here to share their talents and wisdom. There are yoga retreats, eco-workshops and sweat lodges, shamanic and drumming circles, and a multitude of musicians. And this is part of what makes Tulum so special - this international community of people who appreciate design, music, dance, natural foods and who holds a deep regard for nature and individuality.

The Mayan site may have been formerly known by the name Zama, which means 'City of Dawn', as the ruins face the sunrise. Tulum stands on a bluff facing east towards the Caribbean Sea, and the area of Tulum was most sacred to the Mayans, as they brought their future leaders here to be initiated. The Kings (Ahau's) were brought to the temples of Tulum, where they held the ceremonies to receive the blessing of the sun.

The Yucatan Peninsula is also known as an energy vortex. It has a strong electromagnetic field that was caused by a meteorite hitting the Yucatan Peninsula roughly 65 million years ago, and is associated with causing extinction of the dinosaurs.

Wikipedia says that the Yucatan Peninsula was created during the Ice Age, when the ocean levels were much lower than they are today, and what was once a giant coral reef became exposed to the atmosphere and eventually became the massive cave systems below, which were formed by the gradual dissolution of the porous coral limestone. It has been estimated that there are approximately 30,000 cenotes - or exposed access points - to these cave systems, and thousands of miles of underwater cave passageways have already been explored. Ancient fossilized remains of camels, giant jaguars and mammoths are among the interesting archaeological finds in recent years.

We are here drawing together diverse ideas, skills and way of living which need to be rediscovered and developed in order to empower us to move from being cultural conditioned dependent consumers to becoming productive citizens of the earth. By carefully observing the teachings of nature with the help of Permaculture science, we've designed a system that mimics a healthy ecosystem, cycling resources in a way to enhance biodiversity. Mexico is great for our experiment because it is still very much a developing country, it's like a frontier for all kinds of new developments. It's a great place to come if you want to reinvent or test yourself, especially now in the face of the growing global environmental crisis.
