OverviewTour a famous perfumerie and create your own perfume! Just like a movie star, create your own personal, exclusive fragrance. This tour includes: - Round trip transportation from the cruise ship pier or your hotel - English-speaking driver/guide - Creation of your own perfume Visit to: - Grasse - Perfumerie Galimard - Antibes, Cannes, Nice, or St. Paul-de-Vence The focus of this day is to create your own fragrance and learn about scents. We will build the day around this event, which will be about 3 to 3.5 hours long. Whether it is first thing in the morning or early afternoon, the process is the same. We will bring you to the center of all scents, Grasse, the name of which you might find on many of the perfume bottles you already own. The altitude of the town, from 300-400 meters above sea level, and the hills behind, give Grasse a fresher climate than the beach during the heat of the summer. Each flower is seasonal and different fields of flowers deliver their scents throughout the town, which sends a relaxing message to everyone around. During the guided visit through the factory of the famous Perfumerie Galimard, you will learn about the history of perfume and the methods of extraction from raw materials. Afterwards, you will move to another location, where you will be introduced to a master perfumer, or "The Nose" as he is known today. There are only 200 "noses" in the world and 36 of them live in Grasse. Your "Nose" will explain to you the architecture of a good perfume--how it is layers of fragrance and is created in a specific way. Ready now, you will sit in your own laboratory and, with guidance, you will begin to build your fragrance. It is all very exciting and, once you get home with your personal fragrance, you don't have to hesitant to use it as your formula will be on file for future orders. Your creation will always be available just to you. The balance of your day will center around this experience. As Grasse is located in the midst of many wonderful villages and close to the Cote d'Azur, we will help direct you to the area of most interest to you--Nice, Antibes, St. Paul-de-Vence, or Cannes. All of these towns with their delicious French food are within reach. And you will smell good throughout the day! Food and beverages are not included in the cost of this tour.
