Overview
Explore the secrets of Cadiz!
Europe is already rich in history but when you are dealing with Cadiz, the oldest city in Western Europe, it's hard to avoid fascinating tales around every turn. Starting with a pick up at the pier you will begin a panoramic drive covering Puerta Tierra, La Caleta beach, Santa Catalina castle, Genoves Park and Falla theater. At the Puerta Tierra you will see what was originally the main fortification for the wall entrance to enter Cadiz which was erected in the 16th century. One of the most important landmarks in the city! Between the Santa Catalina and San Sebastian castles you will gaze upon La Caleta beach which has been the inspiration for some of the most well known poets and musicians in the region. You may even recognize it from a James Bond movie.
We'll get you out of the car and onto the streets in the Cadiz historical center which is where you will soak in the real magic of the city. Throughout Cadiz there is a plethora of markets that sell everything from nuts to hand crafted items. Your guide will take you to one of our favorites which is Plaza de las Flores. This flower market will capture all of your senses as the aromas fill your nose and colors excite your eyes! At the Cadiz cathedral you will witness a building that was 116 years in the making.
All of these locations are just the tip of the iceberg and your personal guide will explain the history behind all of them every step of the way.
