Full Day Tigre Delta Including LunchExplore > Argentina > Buenos Aires > Full Day Tigre Delta Including LunchOverviewReplace the bustle and congestion of Buenos Aires with the green countryside of Tigre Delta. Enjoy your day in Buenos Aires learning about the different areas neighboring the city proper. Your trip begins with a drive along the Northern residential districts of the city until you arrive at San Isidro, about a 20 km ride. San Isidro is a peaceful, residential suburb of cobblestone streets lined with some luxurious mansions as well as more-modest houses. The historic center is at Plaza Mitre with its beautiful neo-Gothic cathedral. During your ride you will see the mansions and houses in front of the "Rio de la Plata", an estuary in which freshwater and seawater mix. Continuing on your way to Tigre, a charming area where a great number of summer residences, yacht clubs, and rowing clubs attract the week-end activity of many of the “porteños”. The town sits on an island created by several small streams and rivers and was founded in 1820. The name refers to the “tigres” or jaguars that were hunted there occasionally in its early years. The area was first settled by Europeans who came to farm the land, and the port developed to serve the Delta and to bring fruit and wood from the Delta and ports upstream on the Paraná river. Tigre is still an important timber processing port. The Tigre Delta, with its rivers, streams, and numerous green islands, is one of the most attractive areas for visitors. There are hidden gems in this marshy region. Boat rides into the delta offer peeks at local stilt houses and colonial mansions, and you can explore along some peaceful trails. Your tour will include a boat excursion for one hour along these innumerable channels of the Paraná-Delta to see some of the hundreds of islands covered with lush vegetation. Your return ride will give you a chance to reflect on an area that you most likely never expected to see on this trip. - Your boat ride on the Tigre Delta and a three-course lunch (set menu) are included in the price of this tour. Beverages at lunch are not. - Please note that the boat ride is shared. - Restrooms are available in San Isidro, at the boat station, on the boat, and in the restaurant. - Please alert ShoreTrips in advance of any dietary restrictions or food allergies. We will do our best to accommodate. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
