Overview
Montage Kapalua Bay celebrates art and artisanship in many forms, from architecture and local art to culinary and spa offerings, all inspired by the rich surroundings and culture of Hawaii. Set beachfront atop picturesque Kapalua Bay, the 24 acre-resort features Montage branded residences and the introduction of an intimate 50 suite Montage resort which opened in June 2014.
Situated on a legendary oceanfront location, which was once the site of The Kapalua Bay Hotel, Montage Kapalua Bay offers access to the best of Maui. Guests experience a blend of relaxation and rejuvenation with every detail celebrating the richness of Hawaiian culture. Our 50 luxury residential style suites, ranging from one to four bedrooms, offer spacious living accommodations flowing into a large private "lanai" (balcony).
Lasting memories can be made while relaxing by the multi-tiered lagoon pool which cascades down the center of the resort, or while dining on island-inspired cuisine in one of the resort's restaurants or lounges. Comfortable all-suite accommodations are a resplendent retreat in themselves, with spacious living rooms, large private lanais, fully equipped kitchens, elegant master suites and luxurious bathrooms.
From the freshest seafood and breathtaking views at Cane & Canoe to the authentic cocktails and light fare offered at Sunset Patio, dining at Montage Kapalua Bay delivers both exceptional cuisine and a tropical ambiance to create lasting memories for our guests.
Kapalua is a destination without equal known for its amenities, activities, and natural beauty. With legendary golf, renowned spa, and a selection of award-winning dining, Kapalua is the perfect base to explore the wonders and culture of Hawaii.
Offering two championship golf courses – Plantation and Bay – and the state-of-the-art Kapalua Golf Academy, Kapalua has earned its place as the foremost golf destination in the Pacific. The Kapalua Golf Courses continually receive accolades as the #1 Golf Destination in Hawaii. The Plantation Course is home of the PGA TOUR Hyundai Tournament of Champions and currently ranked #17 in America's Top 100 Public Courses by Golf Digest. The Bay Course, dubbed as "Hawaii's favorite resort course," is consistently ranked in the top 20 Public Courses in Hawaii by Golf Magazine.
Opportunities to enjoy the ocean thrive at Montage Kapalua Bay. Steps from the resort are five bays and three white sand beaches, two of which have been designated "The Best Beach in America" by Professor Stephen Leatherman, a.k.a."Dr. Beach." Explore the colorful coral gardens, protected reefs and calm bays teeming with tropical fish. These natural playgrounds are the perfect venue for kayaking and snorkeling. Alternatively you can experience a deep-sea fishing adventure, seasonal whale watching, stand-up paddle boarding or surfing legendary Honolua Bay.
For those more interested in dry land, natural pursuits also abound. Hiking, walking or just enjoying the abundant flora and fauna make Kapalua a nature lover's paradise. Miles of coastal and ridgeline trails wind through the surrounding areas, offering hiking access to some of West Maui's most unspoiled terrain and breathtaking seascapes. A trek into the Maunalei Arboretum finds plants from around the world imported by visionary Plantation manager, D.T. Fleming while a foray along Mahana Ridge gives hikers a glimpse to rugged gulch lands and offshore vistas of the neighboring islands of Molokai and Lanai.
