About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   We arrived before check-in and the staff were very kind about storing our bags so we could go explore the city without them. Once we did come back, the staff were kind enough to offer to carry our bags to our rooms. The room was very clean and crisp looking. There were three double beds, two chairs, one dresser, one desk, a wardrobe, and a lovely area to store a few bags not on the floor. There was a mini fridge and water, wine, and coffee glasses as well as some coffee and tea options with a French press. The bathroom was clean and lovely. There were plenty of outlets and lights for us in the room. There was also an overhead fan in case we needed it. It was really a wonderful room and the hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Review:   Great location next to the lake and Polynesian spa. Also close to downtown and shopping areas. Room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back if I needed a place to stay in the area.

Review:   Staff was courteous and hotel very well taken care of. Big perk was the lake view from the hotel rooms and the nice walking trail along it. Close to visitor areas and easy to get around

Review:   Great location! We had two rooms, one was a bit old and didn't have airconditioning but the other was very nice -- no complaints. The staff was accommodationg and helped make the older room comfy even when they were fully booked and we were only staying for a night. They even brought in a fan even if we didn't ask for one (very good attention to detail). Breakfast was great! Good selection of food.

Review:   Excellent location but don't stay in the rooms in 2 story buildings facing loading zone and back entrance of main hotel building (Rm 325 for one). Tons of foot traffic and early checkouts right outside your window. The Maori dinner/performance was enjoyable. If you stay here get a lakeview, high floor room. Staff was very friendly and capable. It's close close proximity to Polynesian Spa is a plus.
