Private Grand Tour Of Venice On Foot And By BoatExplore > Italy > Venice > Private Grand Tour Of Venice On Foot And By BoatOverviewThis specially designed tour allows first timers to enjoy the best guide, yet pay a sensible price. This Grand Tour of Venice was the idea of our favorite guiding company in Venice. They felt that by designing an introductory tour with some extra elements they could take up to six people privately and enhance the experience without hurting the pocketbook. We highly recommend this option. This tour includes: - One way transfer from the pier to the start of the tour by private water taxi - English-speaking guide - Walking tour of Venice - Boat ride on the Grand Canal - Viewing of an 800-year-old glass company production line or demonstration Visit to: - St. Mark's Square - St. Mark's Basilica - Northern Lagoon - Murano Your guide will be armed with the truth and tales of the city. These are not just licensed guides, but people who live in the city all year round, many of whom were born and raised here. Their insight into this mystical city will be really eye-opening for you--and the small size of your group will enhance the tour even more. Start at the beginning with St. Mark's Square. It is the former center of Venetian politics and also the site of St. Mark's Basilica. There is no way you can visit this city without a stop here. Next you will come with us on a walk that few people experience. You will discover the urban life here, sort of a theatre of the living. You will see the development of the city by crossing over bridges, narrow alleyways, and both large and small squares. The relief of getting away from the crowds is enormous, and you will really feel what Venice is all about. Then we will board a private launch to navigate the Grand Canal, another must. From the waterway, which is still the main thoroughfare here, your guide will point out the homes of the rich and famous, as well as those with stories and secrets. It is the most wonderful boat ride you will ever take. We will take the boat up to the Northern Lagoon and visit the island of Murano, which has been a major center of glassblowing for 800 years. Monday- Friday you will see an actual production line at a glass factory. On the weekends, we will still be able to provide a demonstration at one of the factories. The return transfer from Murano is compliments of the glass factory and may be shared with others, but only a small group. Please remember to dress properly for St. Mark's Basilica. Shorts and sleeveless shirts are not permitted. Also, large bags and backpacks are not allowed inside the Basilica. This tour includes a one-way transfer from the cruise ship landing site to the start of the tour. Full instructions will appear on your voucher. St. Mark's Basilica is closed on Sundays. There are many options to fill the time and we will make a substitution. This tour is priced for up to 10 people. If you have more than 10, you will have to book a second charter. Please note: We STRONGLY recommend taking your cell phone with you on this tour. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
