Overview
The lush fertile valleys will be your ultimate destination in this tour arranged to show off wine.
Positano is considered the pearl of the Amalfi coast and it is true, yet it is not the only pearl in this area. Like many of these towns, its rich culture has spread throughout the coastline and you will not err if you decide to explore it.
Avellino is the land of great noble wines. The south of Italy, particularly Campania, is one of the most exciting wine areas in the world, where the great noble wines are produced. This tour allows access to the main wine cellars where three of them are created. The first is Greco di Tufo, an aristocratic wine introduced by the Greeks from Thessaly. It is straw-coloured and pleasing, yet dry, in taste. The second, Fiano, is an antique wine that is very aromatic and often served as an apertif. Third is the Taurasi, considered the best red in Italy and the first in this area to receive the prestigious DOCG. They are cool climate wines in a hot climate region.
As there are several wineries to choose from, your guide will have pre-arranged appointments at one or two vineyards that show the quality we look for from the latest productions.
A lunch stop will be made during the day. It will be spontaneous and fit with your taste choices, so we won't include that as part of the cost of the tour. The food here is both plentiful and delicious. We'll leave it up to you to decide how long you wish to dine.
