Overview
Spend the day soaking in the unique beauty of two of Messina's neighboring towns.
Only about one hour after leaving Messina you will arrive in the lovely town of Castelmola.
After your pick up right off the pier in Messina you will head to Castelmola, Taormina's balcony. Spend some time exploring the picturesque Piazzetta del Duomo, at the center of town. Castemlmola is known for its famous almond wine, and you will certainly want to stop in to one of the bars to taste some before heading to Taormina.
Upon arrival in Taormina you will visit The Teatro Greco, the most impressive monument of the city. The theater was originally built by the Romans in the 3rd century, and it has been used to host everything from musicals to gladiator. Also visit San Nicolo di Bari, the 13th century Duomo, and the Public Gardens, home to some 200 different plants and a lovely pagoda.
Taormina is located high on a mountaintop above the harbor and is a town known for its wonderful scenery as well as its position as one of Sicily's chicest resort towns. Here you will get fantastic views of the sea and of nearby Mt. Etna, as well as a quaint medieval-village atmosphere.
