About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Review:   We (myself and K Ortiz) just spent a week there and loved it. Checked in on a Sunday and left on a Thursday. The resort was really beautiful and the grounds were absolutely immaculate. The room had a king bed and a sitting room with a pull out couch if you needed it. We were upstairs and had a balcony with a perfect view. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. There are many restaurants to choose from and we never had a bad meal. Make sure you know the times the places are open. Beach area was also great and we weren't bothered by a lot of vendors coming up to you while you laid out The restaurant by the beach had lots of good food and snacks. The only drawback was that there were flies in that particular area due to the place being open. There was a DJ and nightly entertainment for dancing and singing. Recommendations: being your own towel. Also, bring plenty of 1's and 5's for tipping. All of the meals and drinks are included and most of the beer and alcohol as well but its a good idea to tip the servers and others who take care of you. Figure 3 meals a day, servers getting you drinks throughout the day, as well as drivers and baggage handlers. We did do a dune buggy excursion that was a lot of fun. All in all, it was a great experience and we would love to go back there again.

Review:   The property was like a vision of paradise! The grounds were manageable by foot, but there were train and cart options as well. Beautiful peacocks, flamingo and exotic birds were all around. The staff were friendly, polite and a bit reserved. Front desk was respectful and mostly helpful in a laid back fashion. Hi-lites of my stay include the wonderful spa staff and services there. The masseuse was very engaging and very professional. Also, the adult area, adult pool and gym were all exceptional. Property landscaping and beach access and view were awesome!

Review:   The grounds are great. Staff is very helpful. Pool was nice and beach was good too despite the seaweed and small swimming area. The food could be much better, seems like they store and reuse leftovers. Go to the restaurants at night over the buffets as much as possible. Also the peacocks are noisy as hell and woke me up at all hours of the night.

Review:   Meliá Caribe is a beautiful resort in Punta Cana that currently has about three different levels of stay. I stayed on the Tropical side of the resort and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I loved that there were options for golf cart or a train to bring us around the resort. The food was decent. I ate at the buffets and the Mexican restaurant on site. The buffets left much to be desired, especially the American one. I liked the breakfast buffet by the beach - there was a good selection of foods, however, I wish that they had more meat options. The Mexican restaurant was the best meal I had during my four day stay. My favorite drinks were the coco locos (add them to add in a shot of cherry liqueur, you will thank me later). The rooms on the Level side of the resort, where a number of my friends were staying, were far superior to the ones on the Tropical side (and the price difference is not much more so I would recommend that side). The Level side also has great events such as a foam party (Level guests only but I was able to get in with my friends and had a blast!) The pools were nice with walk up bars and the beach was nice and clean as well.

Review:   It feels like we’ve done something wrong. Everyone speaks of this wonderful experience with non-stop attention to detail but I feel like we have been overlooked and struggled to “get the hang” of this resort. We are here for a honeymoon/birthday trip and we’re told the experience would be quite memorable yet we’ve asked for assistance making bookings and we are referred to other people so we can make the booking ourselves. At our trip to the spa, it was at check-in that we were given a discount for staying at the level, the concierge employees did not mention this benefit. Even the Meliá app for smart phone doesn’t recognize is here, unable to log in for bookings and service. I’d like to request jacuzzi preparation but do not know who to ask. The food is good, not great, but we are here for the beach and weather. Yes, there is rain everyday but it is quick and pleasant. We would very much like to come back to Punta Cana but may try another resort.
