Overview
Centerhotel Thingholt is located next to Reykjavik's main shopping street, Laugavegur. The building, which originally accommodated the Ísafold Printing Factory from 1943, has now been converted into an exclusive design hotel and is a great example of Icelandic contemporary design.
CenterHotel Thingholt offers 52 air-conditioned guestrooms, all of which are decorated in a sleek, contemporary style inspired by Icelandic nature. Comfortable yet stylish the rooms provide the perfect atmosphere for your trip to the center of Reykjavik.
Thingholt offers you a choice of four different room types: Standard, Deluxe, Junior Suites and Loft Suites. The Deluxe rooms are furnished with white leather sofas or a romantic bathtub located next to the bed in the main bedroom. The Junior Suites offer both a sofa and a bath tub and the spacious Loft Suites consist of two floors where the bedroom and living room are separated by a set of stairs.
Ísafold Lounge & Bar, located in the lobby lounge area, is the prefect starting point for a memorable night out in Reykjavik. A comfortable and elegant setting along with a wide variety of cocktails, wine and spirits.
Located on a charming side street a few footsteps from Reykjavik's main shopping street, Laugavegur, the Thingholt offers an ideal location for exploring the historic center; shops, restaurants, cafés, bars, nightlife and all the main city center attractions can be found within easy walking distance.
CenterHotel Thingholt is designed by Icelandic architect Gulla Jonsdottir. Gulla owns G+ Gulla Jonsdottir Design in Los Angeles and she has taken part in designing hotels in the US like Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills and Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
The floors are made of leather tiles and the lobby walls are decorated with salmon-leather tiles. When entering the hotel there's a long black lava textured wall, covered in dark glass masks representing the hidden people of Iceland and a small waterfall trickling down over them.
